Switchback

Based out of Huntington Beach, CA Switchback is a high energy Crossover band that has been entertaining audiences for over 4 years. They were formed by Paul Galante and Mike Pirozzi in an effort to create a band that plays music that was actually good but that wouldnt get labeled or stuck in a certain genre. A band that was open to all types of music and that would never be limited to playing whatever was popular at the time. After a few months of searching they found bass player, Philthy Phil Warther! Now with Phil in the ranks to add in that fat reggae and ska tone, the step was to find a singer. After almost a year of searching they found Chile Thomas! The fit was perfect right from the start and the first incarnation of Switchback was born!
After a year and a half of playing shows and writing tunes Phil Warther decided to leave Switchback to pursue his dream of creating a band of his own and to start his own recording studio. So Switchback was in need a bass player again. Auditions were set up and the very first person to walk through their door was a bass player named Jason Smith. As soon as he plugged in the band knew it was a done deal! Able to do all that their previous bass player was able to do, Jason also brought the power of THE FUNK to Switchback, which was something they had always been looking for but were never quite able to reach! Switchback was now complete!!!
For 4 years now Switchback has been playing shows up and down the California coast. From the Haight Ashbury Street Festival in San Francisco to the Rock n Roll Marathon in San Diego Switchback has been rocking audiences with their unique style of genre blending tunes from Rock to Funk to Punk to Ska to Reggae to Jazz to Metal to Blues and even to Acoustic Jamz!! They have released a 6 song EP entitled Media Medication and an 8 song acoustic EP called Within My Reach (produced by Harlis Sweetwater and engineered by Phil Warther!). They are currently working on their 14 song full length album entitled Light of Day and touring California!
