This Trinity met at the Rotterdam Conservatory in Passion of Classical Indian Music. With Heiko's travels into the electronic scene in Amsterdam/Europe (lot's of Sutra-Funk, Club Karma, Sfinks), they smoothly found a warm rich sound together
Celine Wadier - Fairy Tailed Vocals & lyrics, keyboard/ MartijnBaaijens - Funky Sarod, keyboard/ Heiko Dijker - Tabla, Laptop-programming, keyboard
Celine Wadier's music finds its origins in times Dragons were singing along with the first Dhrupad Masters from India.
She's a dhrupad Vocalist and a songwriter.
At the age 7, she said this: "when I ll grow up, I want to be a Soundtrack Composer". Now most of her songs sound like a soundtrack. And she loves it. She fell into the medieval music from North India in 2000, learning the basics of dhrupad singing during 6 years, under Ustad Zia Fariddudin Dagar guidance. During this time she teached and performed in Holland, Belgium, Germany, France, Pakistan and the United States
In December 2006 she graduated from the Rotterdam Concervatory by performing a dhrupad recital in front of a commitee headed by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, she got the mark of 9.5 .
After her Graduation, she move to London where she perform at prestigious place such as the Nehru Center Hight Commission of India and The Spitz.
She s now sharing her time between France, Holland, and UK, working on different projects with renowned talented people such as Niraj Chag and Freecab amongst others.
She s working on her solo album featuring her friends from Aesh as well as Freecab and Niraj Chag. It will be released courant 2008
Martijn started his musical path at young age with his guitar. During his guitarstudy he came in contact with Indian music
by the Sound of the Sarod. The intens melodic en rythmical possibilities had great impact on him. He has studied Indian music at the Rotterdam conseratorium with Koustuv Ray and also with sarod-master Buddhadev Das Gupta.
Lately he started to mix the traditional form with other musical experiments. Like Aesh togheter with some funkiness.. He also played with flamencomucisians and Arabic Ud music.
Heiko Dijker is an Amsterdam based Tablaplayer whose playing is marked by enthousiasm and energy, depth of knowledge and rythmic poetry.
After years of traditional training with Shri Bhaswaraj Bhendigeri in India, he continued to learn with grandmaster Faiyaz Khan in the Guru-Shisya (Master-Disciple) system. Holding a Masters-degree in classical Tabla of the Rotterdam Conservatory, where he studied with Ted de Jong and Ustad Faiyaz Khan, Heiko has been working with great Indian classical and not so classical musicians and dancers, as well as with fusions of traditional and innovative music and dance. Just to name a few: Sandhya Sanjana (Indian vocal), Neela Bhagwat(Indian vocal), Pandit Birju Maharaj(the legendary Kathak dancer), Ustad Fariddudin Dagar, Bahauddin Dagar (Roudra Veena), Amine and Hamza M'raihi(Tunesian Oud and Kanoun), Praful, Het Nieuw Ensemble (contemporary western), Scapino Ballet, Concerto Rotterdam (with Jacob ter Veldhuis), Lenneke van Staalen, Sharat Srivastava, Taal Vadya(rythm group with South-Indian percussionists), Shinske Ishihara(Japanese Marimba virtuoso).
Next to enjoying his performances, he is an accompanist of great masters like Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia(Bansuri) and Pandit Buddhadhitya Mukherjee(Sitar) at the Indian classes at the Rotterdam Conservatory, and a teacher at the SKVR music school in Rotterdam
Recently Aesh has been performing in UK at The Indian Electronica Festival in London where they got great response from the public.
16th October they were invited by the BBC for an interview/Live at Nikki Bedi s show
The Lion track has just been released on the Indian Electronica Compilation Volume 001
