I read comics when I was little, and always wanted to draw them. Tomb of Dracula was my favorite growing up, and I drew several homemade comics with Dracula in them. I went to college to study computer science, but switched to art my last 2 years. Started working in advertising as an illustrator in '87. I changed jobs 4 times in 5 years and was making a successful career, but still wanted to draw comics. By now, I was more into superhero comics with the Silvestri / Claremont X-Men issues as my favorites.
I got married in '89 and we're still going strong. I worked my last advertising job for 5 years as an Art Director. Most of it was computer design and photo shoots. We built a very nice house way, way out in the country where I can run around naked and screaming in the front yard and no one would know. I finally started to get a few side jobs in comics thanks to friends I had met in the industry and from working the conventions. With support from my wife, I made the big jump to comics in '96 ( I think ).
