Now that's something unexpected. I've satisfied the insatiable ... twice.

About Me

Let's see ... first off, I write funny little words on paper talking about moving pictures and things that go -BEEP BLOOP- ... then they give me money.
Okay, so there's a lot more to it than that. Until recently, I was the News Editor over at the website Game Almighty. I also work with some degree of regularity as a Segment Producer and writer for the TV show Electric Playground. I also pop up all over the place for freelance gigs: TeamXbox, GameSpy, GamesRadar, EGM, etc. Once a freelancer, always a freelancer.
I like long walks off short piers, taking wooden nickels, and -INSERT RANDOM CLICHE JOKE HERE-. I also have a tendency to bust out the rusty armor and dented shield, hop on the jackass of a mount I have and tilt at any windmills that dare stand in my way. I'm overworked, underpaid, and wouldn't have it any other way. I've been going stir crazy as of late, and been trying to figure out something to do.
End of Line

"In everything that can be called art there is a quality of redemption. It may be pure tragedy, if it is high tragedy, and it may be pity and irony, and it may be the raucous laughter of the strong man. But down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid. The detective in this kind of story must be such a man. He is the hero, he is everything. He must be a complete man and a common man and yet an unusual man. He must be, to use a rather weathered phrase, a man of honor, by instinct, by inevitability, without thought of it, and certainly without saying it. He must be the best man in his world and a good enough man for any world. I do not care much about his private life; he is neither a eunuch nor a satyr; I think he might seduce a duchess and I am quite sure he would not spoil a virgin; if he is a man of honor in one thing, he is that in all things. He is a relatively poor man, or he would not be a detective at all. He is a common man or he could not go among common people. He has a sense of character, or he would not know his job. He will take no man’s money dishonestly and no man’s insolence without a due and dispassionate revenge. He is a lonely man and his pride is that you will treat him as a proud man or be very sorry you ever saw him. He talks as the man of his age talks, that is, with rude wit, a lively sense of the grotesque, a disgust for sham, and a contempt for pettiness. The story is his adventure in search of a hidden truth, and it would be no adventure if it did not happen to a man fit for adventure. He has a range of awareness that startles you, but it belongs to him by right, because it belongs to the world he lives in.
If there were enough like him, I think the world would be a very safe place to live in, and yet not too dull to be worth living in."
- Raymond Chandler

My Interests

Considering I write about "pop culture" for a living, I've got a LOT of interests. My main field of writing covers the video game industry, so I'm a HUGE video game nut. I've also worked in the comic industry for years, and while I don't have a huge collection of comics anymore, I do maintain a lot of contacts within the industry and I keep up with everything going on. I love getting out when I can, and I've been known to just head out on a whim and grab a cup of coffee while just watching the world go by.

I'd like to meet:

Whoever grabs my attention at any given time. Thankfully my job allows me to meet a lot of unique individuals as well. And like I said earlier, the fan club is ALWAYS looking for new recruits.

Let the games begin ...

Music:

Foo Fighters, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, The Servant, Rob Zombie, and basically anything else strikes me and my mood at the given time. My poor iPod is having an identity crisis

Movies:

Hot Fuzz, Sin City, Serenity, Shaun of the Dead, The Evil Dead Trilogy, The Last Boy Scout, Gladiator, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Sin City, Hellboy, Confidence, Office Space, The Hire, Kill Bill Vol. 1&2, Monster Squad, Dark City, Transporter, and many more. Oh ... and me am liking zombies (mmm ... brains)

Television:

Heroes, Psych, Supernatural, Dresden Files, Mythbusters, House M.D., The Shield, Firefly, [adult swim], Electric Playground (of course), Robot Chicken, CSI, Doctor Who, Torchwood

Books:

The Big Sleep, Farewell My Lovely, Playback, The Long Goodbye, and everything else by Raymond Chandler
