The incarnation series, the metamorphasis, The Hobbit & the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the flies, Watership Down, Animal Farm, 1984, Atlas shrugged, most Stephen King novels... especially the dark tower series (The gun slinger being my fav), The Outsiders to name a few... As far as comics, I love Ghost Rider, Punisher, Batman, X-men, amongst a plethora of mini series with my fav characters.
