reading, writing, films, dressing, going out to pubs/clubs, also looking to get back into running again, though going to uni has somewhat replaced that with smoking and drinking, the clutches of which i cannot withdraw from...enslaved. I'd like to make a real difference to the world - that's not a cliche, i believe at the moment that i will always feel worthless unless i achieve big things in the way of making people's lives better...analytical types read into that as much as you want, i already know what the conclusions are. I guess my main interest is in finding the finer points of humanity in others and revelling in that...
lots of different sorts of people....firstly, anyone whose fun and up for a laugh, open-minded and forward...because i'm not so forward myself and those kinds of people bring the best out of me! Love to meet people to go out to 'different' clubs and pubs with i.e. industrial, gay, trans friendly e.t.c. Love tomboy women also, whether as friends or as more for a submissive guy...and the same goes for femme adrogynous guys... Fundamentally, I'd like to meet anyone who has a real verve for life and a huge heart - the kind of person who takes joy from every moment of life...
Lots of different stuff. I'm listening to the new Placebo album Meds atm, which is a touch depressing but it makes me feel emotional...human, which is what Placebo do well regardless of whether they encourage the little black dog or not. In that vein i adore Depeche Mode, or any emotive music, preferably with an industrial tint. Love female vocalists i.e. Sheryl Crow, Madonna, Imogen Heap e.t.c. Love stuff like R.E.M, U2 e.t.c. Love hard industrial like VNV Nation, Funker Vogt, Aseemblage 23, Front Like Assembly e.t.c...once again largely pessimistic, bleak music, but thriving with mechanical power. Funny how many people seem to love very emotive music and also very bleak, harsh music...much for analytical types to take into consideration. Let me know what you think and we could have some good debates on human nature i am sure...
largely apocalyptic. Love war films although they're not good for my mood...it's the sense of humanity under pressure that does it for me, living every moment as if it could be the last, the sheer power that results from that...living in wealthy consumer Britain, life seems far removed. Show me real living, not just existence... Aside from that, realistically based films on society and it's pitfalls and beauties...Edward Norton's transformation in American History X (such a powerful film) being a good example. Aside from that anything fantastical or realistic involving a better way of life, an overcoming of the things that make humanity the most evil force that has ever existed on Earth. Although we are only animals after all...so many people forget that. It's all around, indoctrinating...like we're special...like we can get away from our natural urges...and i'm doing exactly that now, hypocrite! Humanity is overrated, but there are some beautiful aspects to it (subjectively speaking of course, everything i say is completely subjective). It's a shame consumer society and money have almost obliterated them.
very little. If i'm watching TV i'm usually on my own, which means i probably just feel loneliness. Unless i'm stoned, which is very rare these days, but it did always help with that. So much warmth for others then, the hole filled...anyway, this isn't the right field for these kinds of rants lol (i'm new to this kind of thing). Always open to people who are interested in talking about anything a bit beyond what you see in front of you're eyes...although i can understand exactly why so many people either don't see or don't want to see. Anyway, atm all i'm really watching is Neighbours and Big Brother, although the fotty and Wimbledon have eliminated Neighbours for the last few weeks! I know much of Big Brother is vulgar and crass but i find the characters intriguing. Regardless of their difficulties, weaknesses and strengths, they largely seem to be individuals, not so constrained (or contrariwise, totally constrained) by society. And Pete is a real love...
