Billy is a singer-songwriter and slide guitarist. He comes from the USA where he performed for over a decade with the Goodman Brothers along with Steve Kimock. He also played slide guitar and toured with Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane, Electric Hot Tuna), Dave Mason (Traffic), and played bass and was a road crew member for Starship along with Grace Slick.
Together with his brother Frank he received a four star review in the German Rolling Stone for the 1995 Goodman Brothers release Crooked Smile, and his 1998 solo debut Walk the Street Alone was equally well-received in Europe.
Billy lives near Heidelberg, and continues the tradition of folk and blues. His bottleneck slide guitar, original songs and expressive singing are his trademark. He has been called "the missing link between Paul Simon and Muddy Waters" and has opened shows for such greats as Van Morrison, David Lindley, Leon Russell, John Hammond, Tom Paxton, and many others.
Billy established the independent label "GoodmanRecords" in the year 2000 with three releases so far, Live in Amsterdam, Hellrides and Hollywood Waltzes and Blues, all of which have received international acclaim. Also, his version of "Billy the Kid" from Walk the Street Alone has been included in 2003 on the BMG compilation May Your Song Always Be Sung the Songs of Bob Dylan Vol. 3.
Billys CD Dark Horses, released in 2005, was recorded in America together with The Hooters after successfully opening their last two tours of Germany.
He is currently working with old friend and guitar master Steve Kimock.
