Even though I've used this myspace account for all things work related, it serves as my personal account as well. So with that said, I might as well introduce myself: My name is Ariel (pronounced Ahhh-ree-elle). I was born in Queens, New York to two Haitian parents and raised in the heart of Long Island. I am currently a student at New York University (Class of 2009), studying General Psychology, Education/Special Education and Computer Applications. I plan on attending Graduate school (most likely in Manhattan), and I hope to be able to study something I am interested in. I play quite a few instruments (none particularly well as far as I'm concerned), with violin having some serious staying power (14 years and counting). Here are some quick fun facts about me:
My favorite color is hot pink . I hate being the center of attention. Public speaking is not my favorite thing to do. I love food with a passion that clearly cannot be healthy. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. My Dad began teaching me computer languages at the age of 4. I have always considered myself to be a very shy person in the past but I'm trying to change that. I value family and friends. I don't care much for humidity. At all.

professional information

I am currently the illustrator and vector designer for the New York University Branding Project, which began in April of 2007. I designed a new mascot for the branding overhaul and it's currently being used for NYU Athletic related printing, such as official posters, t-shirts, advertisements, seals, the gym floor, stationary, etc (see gallery above. Or http://www.gonyuathletics.com/ and NYU's Tear IT up! photos).
In the Summer of 2007, I was hired by Island Def Jam as a freelance flash designer, mainly designing flash banners for their website, associated websites and online advertisements.
