Welcome to the MySpace page for the movie ODD BRODSKY --a new film that's currenlty in preproduction by Free Dream Pictures, who also produced the critically acclaimed films PURGATORY HOUSE (which was wide-released on DVD January 16th), and MORBID CURIOSITY (which is currently playing the film festival circuit).
ODD BRODSKY is a quirky comedy about a lovable loser (Rachel Dratch) who gives up her steady day job to follow a lifelong dream of becoming an actress. There's only one problem: She's not very good at it. But what she lacks in talent, she makes up for it heart. It's a character-driven piece, (in the style of Wes Anderson's RUSHMORE and The Coen Brothers' RAISING ARIZONA) about finding the beauty in life.

Cindy Baer is attached to direct ODD BRODSKY. Her debut feature PURGATORY HOUSE screened in over 25 film festivals worldwide, nabbing positions along-side the bigger-budgeted, star-studded Indies. The film became a critical darling, garnering featured stories in over 60 respected publications, including NPRs All Things Considered, The New York Post, The Chicago Tribune, and CBS Radio. Champions of the film include Legendary producer Laura Ziskin (PRETTY WOMAN, AS GOOD AS IT GETS, SPIDERMAN), 2-time Academy Award winning Screenwriter Alvin Sargent (ORDINARY PEOPLE, PAPER MOON), and Indie festival Guru Thomas Ethan Harris, who founded the Los Angeles Film Festival. Critically acclaimed cinematographer Matthew Irving is attached as the Director of Photography. Matt has lensed an eclectic slate of projects, including 15 feature films. His most recent success WAITRESS (starring Keri Russell, Nathan Fillion, Jeremy Sisto, Cheryl Hines and Andy Griffith), premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival in January, was released theatrically by Fox Searchlight in May, and premiered as the second highest "per screen gross", following SPIDERMAN 3, before reaching number 4 at the box office. His feature work ranges from the character-driven quirkiness of DALTRY CALHOUN (starring Johnny Knoxville, Juliette Lewis and Elizabeth Banks, which was Executive produced by Quentin Tarantino, and released by Mirimax) to the quiet and reserved pacing of SPEAKEASY (executive produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck for Miramax Films); From the pounding techno beat of GROOVE (released by Sony Pictures Classics and nominated for Best Feature at the 2001 Independent Spirit Awards) to the ensemble teen comedy antics of WAITING.. (starring Ryan Reynolds, Ana Faris, Dane Cook and Justin Long) which was wide-released by Lions Gate, and debuted on the box office charts at Number 7.
