About Me

Last Minet was formed in Fort Lee, NJ for an annual battle of the bands (which they won.) Eventually as the line up started changing, the band moved into Mam-ax Studios located in Union City, NJ. Their original genre was a mix between metal and punk, then some how moved to pop punk and is now what some may call "alternative hardcore". Because of their sound, and the fact that the band is all females, most people would compare them to Kittie, but they're also compared to other similar alternative groups, such as Flyleaf and Evanesence. Last Minet is made up of four young members: Zuri Fadul (guitarist + back up vocals) age 18, Karen Molina (bassist) age 19, Jovanna Cedeno (drummer) age 21, and Andrea Bauzulli (vocals) age 21. Zuri put Last Minet together in June of 2006 and went through many different musicians, male and female, before finding the perfect line up. Andrea, who was originally friends with Zuri's sister, was around from the early days but started off as the manager. Once they lost their singer, she filled in and has taken that spot over ever since. Later down the line finding a female bassist was an issue. Luckily, myspace made it possible for Zuri and Karen to start talking about music and eventually about the possiblities of her joining the family. After a year with no permanent drummer, hope was kind of fading away, and it made it impossible to have a solid song. Nearly a year later, Jovanna, who was friends with Zuri's sister through a friend of hers, wrote a formal myspace message stating her interest in the band. Although the two already knew each other, the formality of the message was joked about and made it easier to start off a new relationship. In June of 2007, after once again winning the Fort Lee battle of the high school bands, Karen and Jovanna were officially made part of the team. Within the two years of Last Minet being around, they have won two battles, played at FUZZ FEST, have been called to play at the Knitting Factory, stole the stage at the School of Rock, have been playing up to 4 shows a month in many different venues, and will be heard in an upcoming independent zombie film created by their photographer, Miguel Fernandez. Starting July and throughout the summer, they are going to be taking a hiatus from shows to work on solidifying their music, composing more tracks and mastering stage performance. Come November, these ladies will be where they want and need to be.
