About Me

I was born in Music City USA, graduated from Battle Ground Academy and received my BS degree in advertising/public relations with marketing/psychology/English/history minors from MTSU.I signed my first publishing deal on Music Row in 1998 and have been blessed to be able to do this for a living ever since.Writing has been part of my life as long as I can remember, starting first with poetry. My love for writing was fueled by high school teachers and college professors who encouraged me to 'always write.' Songwriting didn't enter the picture until August 6, 1982 -- the day my dad passed away suddenly right before my eyes. That night, I sat down to write the usual poem and the words were accompanied with a melody...totally freaked me out....but a friend once told me 'when your heart is broken, it's open' -- maybe music fell in mine that night. Whatever happened, I consider it the last gift my dad gave me in his life and I will fight the rest of mine to catch this dream. ..
