While it’s far from the first pitch group to spring up in Nashville, this group of dedicated independent publishers and songpluggers is quickly making a name for itself on Music Row and beyond. Since its founding in late 2006, The Song Channel has met with numerous artists, producers and A&R representatives in a low-key, comfortable and fun setting to help them find songs for their projects.
Every member of The Song Channel has multiple cuts to his or her credit, and the group can claim a No. 1 among its accomplishments. Artists who have cut songs pitched by members of the group include: Diamond Rio, Joe Nichols, Clay Walker, Chris Cagle, George Strait, Trisha Yearwood, Chris Young, Buddy Jewell, Mark Wills, Lisa Brokop, Peabo Bryson, Shirley Caesar, Robin English, Lee Greenwood, Johnny Lee, Anne Murray, Della Reese, Don Rigsby, the Statler Brothers and Michelle Wright. Many top-notch producers who have met with The Song Channel have stated that the songs coming from these meetings are better than they have heard coming from the major publishers.
