Visual historian, blessed with living in the Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania area, totally emersed in my element. Author of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania Court House, published by Arcadia in 2002. I am working on my next book, almost finished, and looking to be published May of 2007. Here is a photograph of me taken by Alan Zirkle as I did a program about Captain A. J. Russell in the Sunken Road, Fredericksburg. Just something I felt like doing, making a collage. So here I am sitting in the midst of a construction clearing with my pet cat, Ed. A couch made of deracinated tree mulch. The clearing is being done to build houses on some very historic land in Spotsylvania County. This happens every day. EVERY DAY.
