Aubrey is an alternative/pop quintet mixing many diverse influences into a unique and accessible listening experience. The founders of Aubrey, Jon Ulasien and Robert Weinaug, grew up together in Lawrence, KS and have been playing/experimenting with music as a team since 1994 . Since then Jon and Robert's collaborations have had many iterations in names and composition all the while adding drummer Alex Pierrelee, guitarist Paul Becker and newest member, guitarist Joaquin MintorSince then , Aubrey has been steadily making its mark on the Midwest Indie music scene and garnering national and international attention as well. In 2005, Aubrey was chosen by the judges of Billboard Magazine as one of the top six independent bands in the Midwest and participated in the Disc Makers Independent Music World Series along side Treologic, Jaded Era, The Louies, The Radio Hour and Troubadours at Chicago's famous Elbo Room.Today, Aubrey's debut CD, Honey and the Shame is a mainstay on the play lists of radio stations in Australia, The Philippines, Canada, Mexico, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, France, the U.K. Portugal, Spain, Italy, Poland, the Russian Federation, Central Africa and the United States.On January 19, 2006, on German National Public Radio's Deutschland Radio Kultur program, Aubrey's Honey and the Shame was featured with a favorable review and heard by millions of listeners all across Germany and Europe.What's next?? The long awaited second Aubrey CD, will finally start to take shape in the summer of 2007, after a bit of reflection on the project's direction and a bit of construction on their new studio, DeafCat Studios. Now that the drywall dust has settled and the construction crews have packed up and left, Aubrey is ready to begin. So shows and touring will dwindle to a few here and there, as recording begins to take priority. SO STAY TUNED!!!!
