I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Born in Woking, Surrey, England (where H.G. Wells set his novel, WAR OF THE WORLDS), I came over to Canada when I was thirteen...
I used to be a part of the Toronto Punk scene in the early eighties, being the lead singer in the group THE RAGE. We released a single which is now a collector's item. You can click on the following link Punk History Canada to hear two MP3 clips; I sing on the second song, 'Stay'.
Me fronting THE RAGE at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, circa early eighties.

I graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto with a degree in Radio and Television Arts. I worked at the Oscars and Abrams Talent Agency(representing talent such as Keanu Reeves, Howie Mandel, Martin Short, Andrea Martin, etc) and the J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency. For awhile in the early nineties, I gave horror writing a spin and was published in various small press mags in the USA; I was also a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy writer's group, Toronto Hydra. I was divorced in 2001 after a 12 year marriage. I live in Burlington (near Toronto), Ontario, along with my cat, Gray. I am certified in Reiki and Neuro linguistic Programming (NLP) and now pursue art. My interests include reading, movies, photography, music (especially discovering new music and emerging artists who aren't afraid to push the envelope and/or try something different), buddhism, yoga, peace, ufology, mysticism, social causes, and sharing time with my friends and meeting new people. Books:

Authors: Harlan Ellison, Isaac Asimov, Neil Gaiman, Ray Bradbury, China Mieville, Robert Charles Wilson, early Clive Barker, Joseph Campbell, Pema Chodron, Pat Conroy. Fave Books: Everything Harlan Ellison has ever written, The Martian Chronicles and Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury, Perdido Street Station by China Mieville, Boy's Life by Robert R. McCammon, Shoeless Joe by W.P. Kinsella, The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. I mainly read Science Fiction, some Fantasy, and modern Detective/Crime novels. Occasionally I'll take a diversion into mainstream/literary fiction if the novel's theme peaks my interest. Just tell me a good story, that's all I require -- with characters I feel for. I read non-fiction on lots of subjects.

Heroes:

My Family and Friends.
