Sing-along good time music!

About Me

"A great big smile on the usually moody face of the Manchester music scene" - SA Promotions . "Think Mighty Boosh meets The Blockheads" - Carol Hodge, BBC Introducing . . "Dressed in fine millinery, with breathtaking facial hair, smart suits and Hawaiian shirts, from the moment they step foot on stage, this band have the crowd in the palms of their hands." - BBC Manchester "Introducing" Reviews. . "Thingumabob and the Thingumajigs are one of those anachronistic pockets of strange that make this city (or, er, the other city; they're from Salford) such a wonderful place to go to gigs" - Cath Aubergine, music-dash.co.uk .. THINGUMAJIGS ASSEMBLE... LET'S WAKE THE DEAD! ***Join our email updates list by emailing [email protected] and asking us to add you to it*** . Foot tapping sing-along happy festival music for all... . .. Welcome to the on-line virtual home of Thingumabob & the Thingumajigs. We are a Salford based band who play vaudeville cabaret "good time music". Our shows are all about getting everyone into the swing of things. We don't play moody experimental stuff or virtuoso self-indulgent technical music; instead we play sing-along stuff for you lot, our fans, who we love to bits. .If you appreciate our music then by all means send us a friend request and add yourself to our virtual sphere of friendship, but more important to us is that you please try to come and join us at one of our thinguma-gigs. The songs are good (a veritable gallimaufry of delightful ditties, melodies and serenades some would say) but the performance is what we're really about. To find out about future thinguma-gigs you can join our email list by emailing [email protected] and asking us if we'll add you to our list. .If you come along to one of our events then we promise to try our best to deliver for your aural pleasure, but also to get you rocking, singing and dancing. Leave ego's and bad moods at the door on your way in because you won't be needing them. We do what we do because it's fun for everyone in both the band and the crowd. .In a recent review Thingumabob & the Thingumajigs were called "a great big smile on the usually moody face of the Manchester music scene". We have also been referred to as "Salford's finest moustachioed vaudeville ukulele band" though we admit, it would be hard to find another band to challenge that title. .Drop beats, not bombs. Make music, not wars. Drink tea, not monkey urine. Thingumajigs is a good time band so always remember to get thingumajiggywithit - YEAH!

Sounds Like:Us lot at D:Percussion 2007. The fences round our stage got rushed by angry mobs who couldn't get in. The power got cut to our stage just before we played. The police wouldn't turn it back on and we didn't want to miss our chance to play so we unplugged ourselves and busked it. My mate Neil Wilkinson (clearly an absolute legend) videod it for us and put it on Youtube. What a star he is! It was one of our favourite ever gigs. To anyone who watched us there, good on yer. It was a pleasure to play for you. Love Thingumajigs xA snippet of "Darling I Can't Stand You" from the musical
...Ah yes, and then of course there was our musical "WELCOME TO CLUB VAUDEVILLE" which we wrote with Aidan Smith and the Wits (see our top friends). This is from where the sleazy Jean-Claude (Thingumabob) gets found out by Vivi Vaudeville (played by Katie, the lead Thingumagirl) and Harry the movie producer (Andy Yates from The Wits) and so tells Vivi exactly what he really thinks of her... The musical was great and if you don't believe me then there's a review of the musical in our blog where someone else we don't know says so too! We'll be performing it again in the winter so look out for that.ThingumaKev's homemade instruments
