About Me

Singer/Songwriter.Born and raised in Spartanburg, SC (aka: "Sparkle City" for any other native Sandlappers out there) in a home that had all kinds of music playing at any given moment. My folks discovered my love for it when I was a baby. I was on a stage from the age of 4 for a little bit of everything - but I don't remember a time when I wasn't singing. Met my talented husband, Steven, when we wound up in a college coverband together. After some local gigs didn't pan out, we kinda fell into songwriting and I discovered a love for the craft. Moved to Nashville during one of the worst snow storms to ever hit our area. My car broke down early that morning, so my parents loaned me theirs and onward we came with just a little money we'd saved up, a borrowed car, no jobs, and some great big ole dreams.Everybody has a story in Nashville - they're woven into the fabric of the town itself. I continue to be amazed and inspired by the incredible talent here. It's a rollercoaster ride, but I can't imagine being anywhere else! ________________________________________________________I'm posting some home demos here featuring me on vocals and Steven on acoustic/electric guitar, bass, keys, mandolin, and dobro. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you around town!Take care, c

Influences: My strongest influences are probably my earlier ones. Trisha Yearwood, Bonnie Raitt, Ann Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald, Patsy Cline, Kathy Mattea, Wynonna, Gladys Knight, the Eagles, James Taylor, the Hag, BB King, Jimmy Reed, and the Amazing Rhythm Aces just to name a few. . .My first musical tastes were inherited from my parents. They were into everything while my older brother only listened to rock at an ear-bleeding volume . . so I guess my influences were and still are all over the map. The same can be said for my songwriting influences - and there are waaay too many to squush into this small space!
