My name is Missy. We are here to find people to sponser or donate to our charity. This is a new charity that we are trying to get off the ground.The reason for this charity is to help families after a family member is diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury.
This charity was started because in the year 2000. My daughter and I were in a car accident. Someone hit us from behind, going at a speed of 55 miles an hour. We were turning into my apartment. She was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury. Well, we were sent to Scottish Rites Hospital and the reason I am asking for everyones help today is because there were so many kids there without their families. I could here them crying and I was blessed to be there with my daughter, my parents let us move in with them after we got out of the hospital. I lost our apartment and my job because I needed to be there with my daughter.
Our goal is to provide families with substivised income so they may be there with their family members, when a situation like this occurs. It broke my heart seeing those children all by themselves. When traumatic brain injury occurs it is very crucial for a parent to be there, to learn how to care for their child ,and learn what activites need to be done on a daily basis.
