In 2006 Danish band Infernal put pop you can dance to firmly back on the map, selling over a million singles worldwide! Infernal is without comparison Denmark’s no. 1 pop band abroad. Their major hit ”From Paris to Berlin”, the title track from the bands third album, has conquered tremendously high positions all over the world. Infernal has been signed in 35 countries and The United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland and Australia are just some of the territories, that have released “From Paris to Berlin”.
Most recently the United Kingdom saw the release of ”From Paris to Berlin” in April 2006 – and the warm welcome the song received, exceeded any expectations anyone could have even hoped for. ‘From Paris to Berlin’ became a huge hit and spent 7 weeks in the UK top 5 peaking at ..2. It remained in the top 20 for 13 weeks, going on to become the third biggest selling single in The UK of 2006 so far. Now Infernal are back…. In October Lina and Paw have released their second single “Self Control” in the UK and their native country, Denmark and many countries are to follow.
In a stroke of genius, Infernal have taken one of the eighties’ most popular tracks, Laura Branigan’s top 5 smash from 1984, ‘Self Control’ and doused it in their unique electronic synth-pop sound. The result is one of the best pop records you’ll hear for a very long time. ‘Self Control’ has the potential to go even further than the massive ‘From Paris to Berlin’ – particularly when the brand new video hits our screens. Infernal is formed by Lina Rafn and Paw Lagermann, both from Copenhagen, Denmark. Lina and Paw met through mutual friends in 1991 and were both quick to discover that they had the same passion: dance music. They soon realized they were a perfect musical match and shared the same ambition. In the beginning of 1997 Infernal was a reality.
In excess to their own music, Infernal, also writes and produces music, for among others, Bent Fabric, whose massive sales success “Jukebox” has done extremely well in the United States and Japan, where Jukebox has peeked as no.3 on the Japanese album sales chart and sold over 130.000 copies!
