DJ & Producer Michael Linde alias Beatchuggers, began his musical career as a DJ playing at private parties which led to his residency at his home town’s most fashionable club “Rendez Vous”. This led to his presenting the number 1 dance radio show in Northern Denmark “Hit FM Dance” and a constant demand for his electrifying live appearances which have seen him perform at the most prestigious clubs in Denmark and throughout Europe including; Britain, Ibiza, Latvia, Finland, France, Spain, to name just a few. He can currently be found on a regular basis wowing the audiences at Denmark’s legendary and award nominated House Club “V4” in Aalborg.
Michael worked for Denmark’s largest record shop chain for 7 years, the last three as a buyer at their head office. . . In 1995, slightly tired of just being an enthusiastic member of the audio audience Michael decided he would like to try things from the other side too. He bought a computer and a sampler (Atari & Ensonic ASR10). Eric Clapton’s “Forever Man (How Many Times)” was one of several tracks he produced at this early stage after having discovered how all the “bells and whistles” worked.
This is where the “lucky break” comes in; Eric Clapton is a Megastar and a rock legend so the chances of this dance remix ever seeing an official release were slim, to say the least. Michael’s production found it’s way to FFRR records in London, where legendary DJ Pete Tong flipped over the Beatchuggers re-working. By sheer coincidence they have their offices on the same street that Eric lives. One day one of the girls at FFRR saw Mr Clapton walking along with his shopping, passed their office door and invited him in to hear the unique recording. He thought it was incredible and not only gave his complete approval but even offered to appear in the video and the rest, as they say, is history.
Beatchuggers featuring Eric Clapton “Forever Man (How Many Times)” became one of the hottest dance hits in the world in 2000, helped by it gaining anthemic stature in Ibiza that summer. It reached 26 on the UK sales chart and topped dance lists world-wide.
Michael gave up the “day job”. The demand for Beatchuggers remixes has been immense ever since and his DJing career has taken him to guest spots at the top clubs around the world.
Beatchuggers have been nominated for countless trophies and won “Danish Remix Of The Year” for Safri Duo’s “Baya Baya” at the Danish Dance Awards 2002.
Beatchuggers first single remix was S-Connection “Summerlove” (97). Beatchuggers first production came one year later “The Vibe”, this remains unreleased owing to copyright clearance but was much played by Judge Jules. The big break came in 2000 with “Forever Man (How Many Times)”. That shot Beatchuggers into high orbit and a string of successful international remixes followed, including; Safri Duo “Baya Baya”, Eric Clapton “I Ain’t Gonna Stand For It”, Tears For Fears “Shout” etc. (for the full list of Beatchuggers remixes check the discography page).
Since his original success Michael has extended his talents even wider, in recent years with a string of Beatchugger floor-filling productions. They have included Soulshaker in 2005 (Toolroom) Michael continues to evolve his creative talents under the aliases of Beatchuggers, Lindos, & Mike Polo.
In 2003 Michael also began producing under the name of Lindos. The results have been equally successful, including; “Break Free” (Brickhouse/Nice & Firm/Ministry Of Sound SA) - this was a club hit in 2004. 2005 brought “Feel It” (Soundslike...) and “Keep On Moving” (Heavy Traxx (Gossip)), 2006 saw stunning remixes of “Break Free” issued by Brickhouse/Just music SA. Michael has collaborated with the top name DJ/producers on several releases, including; Kid Massive, and Moth to name just a few. Although not a vocalist himself Michael’s productions have brought out the best from some of the world’s top name session singers including; Inaya Day, Kathy Brown, Tiger Lilly, Shena, and Tara MacDonald.
On-going productions that keep Michael working late in his studio in Aalborg, Denmark include his collaboration with Jesper Sidelmann and the resulting lounge project Out Of Sight.
Working with the Disco:Wax (Warner Bros.) label, Michael is now recording under the name of Mike Polo. Two chart topping singles have already seen great reaction; ”Gypsy Woman (La Da Dee)” a cover of Crystal Waters 1991 smash gained massive support from DJs everywhere including; Shapeshifters, Frankie Knuckles, Stonebridge and Tall Paul. The release reached the top 5 in Denmark and the top 20 throughout Scandinavia, helped by heavy radio play in the territory. The second; ”Free”, a re-work of the late 90’s classic from Ultra Naté is currently enjoying similar success, the recording has subsequently been signed to a long list of international labels including; Seamless, Egoiste, Ministry of Sound (Aus), Just Music SA, Cyber. . . and the Mike Polo ball has only just begun to roll. An album featuring some sensational original material will be released in 2008, the latest news is that some very exciting ”names” will be involved.
Beatchuggers recently signed contract with Pacha Recordings (the prestigious record label offshoot of the legendary night club chain) will see him initially creating 5 singles for the label. The signing is one of many over the last few years which have seen the Beatchuggers name appear on high profile releases from FFRR, Toolroom, Ministry Of Sound, Time, Blaco Y Negro, Tenor, Brickhouse, Housesession, Gossip, Soundslike, Slip N Slide, Happy Music, EMI, Universal, Warner Bros, BMG and gained him global fans of the highest calibre including the elite DJs in the dance business including; Pete Tong, Danny Rampling, Erick Morillo, Judge Jules, Deep Dish, Stonebridge, Dave Pearce, Martijn Ten Velden, D. Ramirez and Roger Sanchez and many more.
