About Me

I'm a wife, a mom, a writer. I've just redesigned my website -- ELEGANT WHIMSY. You'll find all kinds of info about me and what I write there, as well as my blog.
I write across several sub-genres, some contemp, some historical, but I love paranormal! My newest offering, HEART OF THE SEA , will be available November 1, 2007, from Samhain Publishing. HEART OF THE SEA is part of an anthology centering on Celtic lore, so I chose to use a mythical Selkie as one of my characters. I can't wait for its release!
Samhain also published my first novella, a pararomzomcomnov (paranormal romantic zombie comedy) called NOT QUITE DEAD.
My historical short story, THE VIRGIN COURTESAN , is set in Venice during the Italian Renaissance. The time period had so much beauty and brutality that it makes a perfect setting!
And finally, I'm fortunate enough to be part of a charity anthology called DREAMS & DESIRES. Nineteen authors participated and all the net proceeds go to a battered women's shelter. It's available from Freya's Bower , as well as in trade paper and hardback at Borders and Barnes & Noble.

The Selkie Legend

5 Angels for HEART OF THE SEA!!

Yay! I love when I get those 5 angel or heart or star or fuzzy bunny reviews. 4 (out of 5, or 3 out of 4 or however they scale) is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but also frustrating. Especially when ...

Breton Mythology at Beyond the Veil

At the very northwestern tip of France lies a region called Brittany, or Bretagne. Directly north of it, across the English Channel, is Cornwall. And a very long time ago, they weren't so different fr...
