What I'm listening to right now: "The Struggle Is Over" by Jonathan Nelson. This song is my theme song, and YES I DECLARE THAT THE STRUGGLE IS OVER! Devil you can't steal my joy! "Delayed But Not Denied", by Jennifer Evans,she's new on the scene, but can SANG, and WRITE! I'm a lover of words, so a song's gotta have a message for me. Anything by Yolanda Adams and the beautiful CeCe Winans. When I want to get my heart pumpin', my Detroit homegirl, Vickie Winans, is who I listen too! Gotta show some love for my hero, BONO. Show him some love on his page, please. He does so much, and lends his celebrity to uplift humanity. BONO, much love and deepest respect! Now that I live in North Carolina, 'ya gotta give a shout out to James Taylor too! :-)

Movies:

Let's see.....I love comedies! :-) I like documentaries--"An Inconvenient Truth" is a must see! Make sure that you purchase it. Al Gore, was so deserving of the Oscar on this one. I love the oldies but goodie movies too. "Little Rascals", the movie, is one of my absolute favorites! Yes, I love kids. :-) Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls......what else can I say? God has given you an incredible platform. Keep givin' Him praises girl, and don't ever forget Him! ANY movie written or directed by my fellow alum of Cass Technical High School, and U of M alum too--dang, I almost forgot that we went to both schools together! Gary Hardwick...he's in California now, but writing books, scripts and makin' it happen on the silver screen! Much love Gary!

"Everybody Hates Chris", "Livin' It Up with Patti LaBelle", "Girlfriends"--ALL news programs--especially the one's that have covered my clients! ;-) Tavis, Al Sharpton's show---love the barbershop effect :-) I can't leave out my fellow native Detroiter and Cass Technician alum, Ed Gordon's "Our World" by Black Enterprise. He's a skilled journalist, and together brotha, who still remembers from whence he came. ;-)

Books:

Love to read! Love to promote authors that have something positive to say--especially those who can elevate our people and youth! You must read books by my Soror and church member, Michele Andrea Bowen. That's right, the author that brought you "Church Folk", "Second Sunday" and her latest, "Holy Ghost Corner" is a proud Zeta! :-) For all of the sistahs out there who are fabulous and over 40, check out BEVERLY MAHONE, author of "WHATEVER! A Baby Boomer's Journey Into Middle Age". She offers insight to the "middle passage" with wit, wisdom and grace. Check her out at, www.talk2bev.com BabyBoomerBev, as she is affectionately known as, is the only African American dubbed as an expert on issues that baby boomer's in America, by MSNBC-TV. And last, but certainly NOT least, when you need to refresh your mind on Black History, a must read book is: RECAPTURING THE AFRICAN MIND, by Dr. Bruce Bridges. Bridges is an entrepreneur, author, lecturer and comic edutainer! In other words, he has the gift to teach folks about Black History in an entertaining manner. If you're ever in Durham, North Carolina make sure to visit his bookstore/restaurant, THE KNOW BOOKSTORE on Fayetteville Street--walking distance from North Carolina Central University!
