Johnny Mifo started out as a mobile Disc Jockey in the late 80's. He learnt his craft from the age of 17 playing at weddings/birthdays and christenings with a guy he met at college. This guy taught Johnny the basics of how to play to a crowd. He learnt to play all kinds of music to all kinds of people of all kinds of ages. In the early 90's Johnny was taken to his first Soulful House/Garage club, "Legends" in Old Burlington Street, London W1. A night called "Trouble's" House where the legendary DJ Paul "Trouble" Anderson played. This is where his love of US Garage/House began. He would listen religously to Paul "Trouble" on Kiss FM and tried to imitate and perfect the famous Paul "Trouble" chop on a midi hi fi as he didn't possess a set of turntables until mid to late 90's. The music that Paul was playing was like no other that Johnny had heard. It inspired him. Johnny's first club experience was @ the defunked Paramount City in Great Windmill St, London, where he reigned the turntables for around 6months before the club was turned into a Lapdance Night Spot. Also in the late 90's he started playing with a Reggae Sound System called GT (Gentle Touch). This is where his love of Reggae, Lovers Rock & Rare Groove started. A few years later he was introduced by a friend to Richie Mac. Richie's style of music opened Johnny's spectrum of music even further, introducing him to Funk & Boogie. The style of music that Johnny plays can vary, from Soulful/Latin/Jazzy/Funky House to RnB/Hip Hop, but has also been known to play Soul, Jazz Funk, Rare Groove, Reggae & Bashment - Myspace Editor
