www.myspacecom/favouritizmAfter many years of publicising great music from world renowned dance & urban artists and DJ’s, Favouritizm publicity are excited to announce the launch of their own brand new digital label this summer. Continuing to focus on all things musically soulful, Favouritizm Music will be reeling in the cream of underground soulful artistes, kicking off the party with a heavyweight UK Disco-funk band called The Super-Phonics and employing the remix skills of talented production duo BahSonik (Julian Bendall from Bah Samba & NYC’s Filsonik) for a beautiful single called ’Dial L For Love’. ’Dial L For Love’s delicate keys and hypnotic beats topped with heartfelt vocals from Miss Lucy Jules has already received support from soulful house heavyweights such as Louie Vega, Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell, Osunlade, DJ Spen, Alix Alvarez among many others, and looks set to be somewhat of an underground summer classic in the making!.."Dial L for Love’ Bahsonik Remix - When i hear this jam i think about chillin on the beach in Ibiza playing a sunset party. Alix AlvarezThe Super-Phonics were born out of a conversation in a small bar in downtown Tokyo about 2 years ago after an Incognito gig at the Blue Note Club. Dominic Glover aka DJ Deirdre and friend Terry Washizu (A&R man at Pony Canyon Records Japan supped on a couple of pints of Guinness and pondered.. "What would be great" says Terry, "is if someone did a record along the lines of the Dj Joey Negro’s project ’The Sunburst Band’ but with (if possible) more Funk, more Disco, more Groovin’ & Movin’ to that 70’s beat, You know, real musicians tearing the s**t out of their instruments with bootytastic get down and boogie grooves, and pumping heart-stopping basslines.".... "That’s sounds right up my strasse. I could get plenty of the best musicians and record a wicked album for you..." Piped Dominic.. And so it came to pass that born into this world, a hybrid of Funk/Disco/House/ Rare Groove, was ’Interstellar’, the new album from The Super-Phonics for Pony Canyon (Japan) due for release this summer on Freestyle (UK). The Super-Phonics core band members are ; Miss Luvy Jules on lead vocals, having sang for Beverley Knight & Brand New Heavies on BV’s previously; Jason Glover writer/producer; Dominic Glover Writer producer/trumpet who has toured and recorded with Us3, Incognito, JTQ, The BNH’s, Groove Armada, Gorillaz and more; Gary Crockett writer/producer/bass, Bass player with The James Taylor Quartet; and Simon Bartholemew, one of the founders of The Brand New Heavies, who has also worked with Jamiroquai among others. Other heavyweights culled together for The Super-Phonics project are the cream of the Acid Jazz & Funk scene - Jan Kincaid (BNH’s), Jean Paul ’Bluey’ Maunick (Incognito), Nick Van Gelder (Jamiroquai), Snowboy (The Latin Section), Jim Hunt (Primal Scream, Richard Ashcroft), Mike Smith (Blur, Gorillaz) and many more!In November 2005, Julian Bendall from Latin-soul band Bah Samba, was sent a vocal from Ben Johnson (Syam) by Siji called ’It’s My Turn’, of which Julian made a demo remix of. So impressed by the demo, Ben flew Julian over to Syam Studios NYC, home of Quentin Harris & Scott Wozniak, where he met upcoming producer Filsonik from Club Shelter. Filsonik came up with beats and Julian added magical keys and together they discovered a unique sound of pretty music laced with deep Puerto Rican beats and hey presto! Bahsonik were born! Since, this dynamic duo have gone on to remix tracks such as Nadirah Shakoor ’Love Song’ Youruba Soul, Alexander O Neal ’Lord’, The Fatback Band ’Feel The Fire’ and Maxine Braham ’If’ for BKO, Tamara Wellons ’Oh Well’ Ocha, and Emminence ’Do With You’ Syam, with their work championed by the likes of Osunlade, Timmy Regisford, Sting International and Louie Vega. 2007 brings more excitement for Bahsonik as they put the finishing touches to their debut artist album titled ’Shake The Dog’ due for release late 2007 on Syam. ’Shake The Dog’ features a stellar line-up of artistes including Monique Bingham, Nadirah Shakoor, Siji, Jepthe Guillaume, Quentin Harris, Bah Samba, Liv Lykke, with more surprises to come!TRACKLIST
