JEFF WALL
(born 1946, Vancouver, Canada)
Contemporary Cinematographic Photographer.
Many of his images resemble a candid shot, but is in fact a well staged performance of a screenplay. Created in order to give the artist the opportunity to take many photographic images over a period of time in order to achieve the desired result. His sources of the idea of the image has been derived from art, literature and an event witnessed by the artist himself. The finished image is a large scale cinematographic transparency mounted on a light box.
Stop by my place and see some great photographic images at my Jeff Wall blog Jeff Wall - MOMA Show

Painting by ArtistElaine enters Collection

I am honored to announce the addition of the first piece to the ArtAddicted collection from a MySpace friend. Elaine, aka Artist Elaine

I'd like to meet:

Listed and emerging artists, art collectors and dealers.

I collect only the artists on the following list. I would like to interact with emerging artists, maybe develop a friendship.

The artists that I buy that are not listed are personal friends that I have a long term relationship. Listed Artists are listed with auction results from major auction houses in www.askart.com, www.artptice.com, www.artnet.com and/or Who's Who of American Artists. The focus of the collection are artists that had a strong presence in New York City or Philadelphia over the past 50 years. I must limit the collection, since I have a limited amount of wall space and I like so much of the good art that I have experienced.

Jackson Pollock - Tribute
Jackson Pollock, abstract painter, died Aug. 11, 1956 at the age of 44. To honor Jackson Pollocks life and art influence, I suggest that you visit the following site, Create a Jackson Pollock Painting .
The Web site is a flash program (and nothing else) where with the drag of a mouse, you can make your own drips and blotches of paint in the style of the great American abstract expressionist.
Mover the cursor across the screen to control the direction of the paint. Click the mouse and you can change colors, though there is no option for rubbing cigarette ash into the digital canvas. But it will sign your name just as Picasso wrote his.The site was created by Greek artist Miltos Manetas
