Not just oldies from the 60's but modern oldies from the 70's and 80's too

About Me

It has been a pleasure to be online playing the greatest music of the 50's through the 80's but it's finally coming to an end. On Sunday, June 15th CapitalRadio.us will cease webcasting, mostly due to the outrageous rates imposed by the bandits who call themselves the Recording Industry Association of America. Don't get me wrong, I believe music artists should be failrly compensated for their works, but the RIAA's excuse of high "administrative costs" goes beyond absurd! Webcasting is just one of the casualties brought thanks to the greed of the RIAA. The fun is gone so the station will discontinue webcasting on June 15th. You're all invited to listen to the "Pull The Plug Weekend", starting Friday, June 13th starting at 6pm.
Not just playing the greatest oldies from the 60's, but modern oldies from the 70's and 80's too, Capital Radio.us is the place for those who love and enjoy the greatest musical artists of all time. If you're hooked on the same Top 10 oldies the other stations play you'll be in for a pleasant surprise. Besides hearing those popular Top 10 hits the others play, you'll hear an extensive variety of songs that charted on the Top 40 and Hot 100 charts as well as those that have "bubbled under" the Hot 100. Rock and Roll, Pop, Motown, Soul, Folk, Easy Listening and even Disco - it's all right here 24 hours a day.If you're a fan of the do-wop sounds of the 50's there's something for you, too! Pulling out all the stops, the "Retro Weekends" feature the sounds of the 50's all the way through to the 70's. This is the music that served as the foundation of early rock and roll radio in America! You'll hear more of the music that today's "oldies" stations just doesn't play - it's the oldies station with a difference!Take a visit to the station's official web site to find out more, from the faces behind the voices to how listeners like you keep the Oldies playing. Streaming from Connecticut, USA and serving the world, it's truly a revolution of Oldies.

My Interests

Great music from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. classic cars, classic radio airchecks, TV game shows from the past, most anything pop culture related from the 60's through the 80's.

I'd like to meet:

Obvious, oldies lovers from Connecticut, America and around the world who enjoy listening to the music of the 50's, 60's 70's and 80's - everything from Do-Wop to Disco, Pop, Rock, Motown, Soul and Easy Listening. The music that made AM radio great back in the days before the need for the shock jocks - back when radio was entertaining not only with the greatest music but with great radio personalities who were truly entertaining in their own right! It's also great to see many of the musical artists here who created the greatest music of all time.
