Before a mad scientist goes mad, there's probably a time when he's only partially mad. And this is t

About Me

Equipoise these days more or less...I am Moxxi a.k.a. Blixx, Curious Blue, and many others in between. Some of you know me, some of you knew me, some of you wanted to know me, despite the stern warnings of others, and didn’t, wouldn’t, or couldn’t. Well, bulgarywash, let’s just pretend that I could write something here that would actually give some portent of who I am, and that it’s consequential in some way, and that I DID in fact write it. Now close your eyes and read it. Voila!-----------------Well, now that you know me, and we are so VERY close, I can give you some of the banal meandering cracker-report bits of info about what I do, and this or that, which are appropriately enough termed ‘blurbs’ on Myspace, because they have about the profundity and impact of a baby vomiting (thus the term ‘blurbs’, you see). Then throw in a couple of tests concerning personality, IQ, mental health, etc... soon enough I will have veritably fulfilled the great dream of the modern, techno-savvy, upbeat social networker; to be heard, seen, and/or understood by means of a series of cleverly placed words, beeps, and whistles, like some sort of digital dolphin.---------------------------------------------------S o, let’s beat this severely wounded horse and see if it can swim.-------- I have lived and worked in Belgrade, Serbia for almost four years now. I love it, though the locals think I’m crazy, or in local speak, ‘potpuno, ozbiljno lud’, and it may in fact be true for all I know or anyone can say.----------------------------------------------------The first word you learn here is ‘jebiga’, which means ‘fuck it’, and is the single most important word to know in these parts. They teach it to you at the airport, and they won’t stamp your passport unless you’ve said it at least five times.--------------------------Serbia is a great country full of passionate people. There has even been talk of extending their borders all the way to Tokyo, an ambition undreamt of since Napoleon, and one quite feasible if you ask me, thank you very much!------------------------------------------------------- - --------------------------------------------------I'm of Irish-Italian-Polish descent, disposed to sex, poetry, drinking, and flights of fancy. For the whole of my youth (not that I'm ancient or anything), I believed myself to be an exclamation point in a world full of periods. But the endless cogging of time coupled with the steady and resolute hand of experience has taught me that I am, in fact, a question mark in a world full of colons.----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------Eh, pa, govorim malo srpski ali ne bas dobro. I mislim da nikad necu da naucim padeze. Mozda, jednog dan...------------------------------------------------------ - ------------------------------------------------------------ -- ------- PS: This jaded, sarcastic exterior exists solely for the purpose of throwing you off the trail. You see, the fact is that I’m an overly sensitive, utterly petrified misanthrope. A frightened and terminally displaced human, the prototype of a new generation of refugees for which the world has not yet created any form of shelter. A pariahic itinerant, a wayward Parsifal, a mendicant transient, a rambling peripatetic. And aloooone, alOOOOONE, ALOOOOOONE! Dramatic pause.... Just kidding. About the alone part...... I suppose it all makes for good writng, and in the end isn't that what it's all about? To what degree is my alienation market-soluable? If only I were the rock star that I know I am... Ok, so I'm cynical, yes. Cynical but not pessimistic. Cynical optimism consists of appreciating the dark hard and heavy stuff for its eventual conversion into satire. This is like saying 'Hey, things are going to be just fine. And when they're not, well then I'll at the very least have the chance to write scathingly about it. To show myself to all as the mordaciously witty writer that I am, to boast about how I eat Dostoyevski on toast with a cup of Kerouac and shit Burroughs and Jung.'-------------------------- Ok, everyeverything aside, I am in fact an optimist. I do enjoy wearing the mantle of modesty, though it is a little tight between the legs (rrrrgh, sorry I can't help it. 'There egos again...'), I do, trite and cliche though it may sound, believe in love, peace, kindness, charity, and tolerance. People who know me know it's true. You can ask 'em.-----------------------------------On the other hand, I find comedy to be the greatest weapon of change and thickest armament and protection available to us, and it's no good if it's sickly sweet to the point of being emetic. And will then therefore profit outright and thrive for myself and others upon the chaos and bedlam. I will write.______________________________________________________ ______________ ____________________________________________________________ _____________ I've found my gravestone, courtesy of Kilgore Trout:
