Triangular Songs On Gatling-Gun Acoustic Guitar

About Me

Yesterday...
Dave picked up the guitar too early to learn anything formal so he became a tunesmith from the very start. This habit become so deeply ingrained that even a concentrated effort to mend his ways during the hiatus of the '80s and '90s had little effect. A relapse was always just around the corner.
His pedigree includes playing and recording in London and touring in the UK and Europe before he retired from recording and performing in the 1980s. But the songs just kept popping up so in the early '90s he fitted out a studios for the purpose of recording the back catalogue of songs that had accrued these years - and to record local musicians who happened by. This was the beginning of the end of the interregnum.
Today...
Dave's songs have been described s quirky, wry, sly, muscular, poignant, scurrilous, sleazy - even philosophical! They are always "about" something, ranging from near journalism to wild extrapolations from a single glance or passing smile. His guitar playing has been described as gatling-gun, bright, dense, and percussive.
As for so many independent artists, the internet is giving Dave opportunities to reach an audience who would be difficult by traditional means. Fans are being found all over the planet who would hitherto have had little opportunity to discover his songs. 2006 saw Dave's first release for many years and the CD "Interim Reports" is being thoroughly welcomed wherever it is heard.
Tomorrow...
Dave's now embarked upon a path of recording and issuing songs either freshly composed or accumulated - but nothing get's released on a CD that hasn't served time in front of an audience! Dave return to performing and being warmly received and plans for the future are focused not only playing regularly throughout the UK and Europe again, but also to open up new horizons by way of performance tours within the US.
Dave is currently playing locally in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and recording new songs for CD release in 2008. Plans are now getting underway for tours of the UK, Europe and the United States in 2008 / 2009.
We hope you enjoy the songs - don't forget to leave a message, or just say "Hi!"
