emile kiesbye (mary) - louisiana, of all that matters 'live 2009
Mary was born from the ashes of the band Filled. In August 2004, after doing two summer tours that year, playing on big venues and some of swedens largest festivals, Filled did their last official gig and then quietly faded out.
In the beginning of december 2004, the former lead singer of Filled, Emile Kiesbye started a ten year old project of his, together with american stand up bass-player John Whiteleather. December 22, 2004 they did their first gig, going by the name "the mary constellation", as they where joined by former Filled member Emil Rotsjö on lead guitar and Emma Samuelsson on the cello.
Emile Kiesbye quickly realized that former Filled member and close friend Emil Rotsjö would be a great asset to the project and asked him to join. In february 2005, after only having done one performance in Sweden, Mary was set for their first tour. One month in the United States.
Returning from America boosted with inspiration Emile, started to work on the songs for the upcoming album that was due for the end of summer 2005. However the project turned into a summer tour and new members where added after the dropout of bass player John Whiteleather, due to musical differences... Drummer and long time friend Martin Kjellgren and bass player Mats Winkvist joined as additional musicans... the much delayed and longed for album "songs from a small town..." is still a work in progress, but the official claim is that it's due to be released in the summer of 2009... it's just around the bend... so we'll see you on the flip side!!! /mary
the song "just another stupid love song" is a sketch recorded by Emile Kiesbye, one really late night in his livingroom, playing all instruments by himself... and btw... he's a really bad drummer...
and for those who care, the name "Mary" comes from Emile Kiesbyes grandmother and a song for her will be featured on the upcoming album. (and hopefully soon here on myspace as well...)
[17april 2007] a sketch for grandmas song, recorded in Emile's kitchen, has been added to the online songlist. Emile Kiesbye plays acoustic guitar, harmonica and drums(even though he's a terrible drummer). Emil Rotsjö plays electric guitar (elgura) and something that sounds like a bass... (it's really a 110$ acoustic guitar that has been tuned down...) enjoy! /mary
