Writer, hard worker, Renaissance man

About Me

I'm a confessed luddite who's hoping to meet other comic book creators, writers (fiction, erotica, screenplays), martial artists (I'm a certified Jeet Kune Do Concepts instructor with a direct link to the Inosanto Academy in California), music and film buffs, and other oddballs.

My Interests

Writing, comics, martial arts, music, film, art, travel

I'd like to meet:

Comic book creators, writers, martial artists, fellow film and music elitists, and anyone cute and sexy.

Music:

Anything good. My tastes range from Sonny Boy Williamson to John Digweed. The last concert I attended was the the Hives and the last album I bought was "Twinetime" by Twinemen.

Movies:

Again, anything good. My favorite genres are spaghetti western and old monster/sci-fi movies from the 1950's through 1970's (particularly Hammer Studios films and anything with the words "atomic," "giant," "beast," or "It" in the title).

Television:

I don't watch much TV. We don't have cable, and I would only subscribe to it if I could pick and choose the channels I wanted. I enjoy anything well-written, but I watch less than five hours of TV a week.

Books:

Mostly fiction. My main influences are comic book writers. My "Fearsome Five" are (alphabetically): Howard Chaykin, Keith Giffen, Frank Miller, Alan Moore, and John Ostrander. My favorite fiction writer is Arthur C. Clarke. Non-fiction? Mostly steam-of-consciousness memoirs like "Tropic of Cancer" and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."

Heroes:

My parents. My wife. My Sifu.
