About Me

..
This whole venture started back in 1996 during my senior year in high school. That's when what had started out as just doodles turned into Nash and Agnew, the two main characters in Youth in Asia.
In 1998 Kyle joined the duo and has stayed on ever since. That same year Monolyth, who would later be renamed Cain became the arch villain of the "new dynamic duo."
It was not until June 6, 2006 that Youth in Asia actually saw print. Issue one had small but brisk sales in a small community of readers in Tucson, Arizona.
I have attempted to branch out with the release of issues 2 and issue 1 The Director's Cut, which contains commentary by myself as to why I did and what I was attempting to get across with each page. Issue 1 the Director's Cut also saw new artwork and a new cover.
Issue two saw Nash and Agnew tangle with a group of kidnappers who had held Apex City in a grip of terror for weeks.
And issue 3 sees the gang, which now includes the following roster:
Nash: the main character and hero. Pro wrestler by day for Triple X and super powered vigilante by night
Agnew: Nash's sidekick and split off of Nash's personality
Kyle: Nash's girlfriend, Kyle also wrestles for Triple X, and is in a local rock band called, the Step Monsters
Grrry: Nash and Kyle's best friend. Grrry also owns a local comic book shop and an independent wrestling promotion called Triple X. Grrry is also the front woman for the Step Monsters
Em: The quiet type and bassist for the Step Monsters
Jane: The band's drummer and only member without a tattoo.
Kevin: Jane's boyfriend. Kevin is Nash's information broker, weapons master and a licensed EMT.

Other creative individuals, especially if you are into comics and or are working on your own projects or wanting to collaborate.

You can meet up with me and others working on some great indy comics every Wednesday. Every Wednesday, myself and other local creators meet at Ave. Coffee north of Campbell and Grant. Sketchbook starts about 6ish and goes till 10. Basically we shoot the shit. Talk about our favorite books, movies and music. Be sure to bring your drawing supplies, an open mind, some attitude (as we dish it out to each other all the time), and some ideas about what you want to work on, collaborate on and eventually finish.

Casting Call for John Chihak.... ACTION!

Of course there is the super obvious choice of Nash from my own book, Youth in Asia. But that's not really fair, since he's based on me anyway. Although, I would have to be more athletic, and ther...
