More About Me (although huge chunks are left out due space):Born in the Republic of Panama, JONPITO later grew up in the city of Miami. At a young age in his teens he already started working as a Producers Assistant in his Aunts Film production company, where he would take part in projects for international stars such as Luis Enrique to Latin pop singer Chayanne and commercials for AT&T,CocaCola, American Homes realty and many more. Although with a foot already in the film and music video field and taking part in gifted schools, the love of dance music would shift his life to his pure love...FREESTYLE DANCE MUSIC. He would later join TEN-LION records as a record promoter and work his way up as manager of the third batch of Teaz II Pleaz girls feat Hilda Marie. Over the years, he would work with several groups and several labels. At the same time, joined the record label DESTUNE and FREESTYLEMUSIC.com . In due time caught the attention of platinum award winning producer and Miami Dance Pioneer/Freestyle God, LEWIS MARTINEE (One of the first Latin pop Dance/Freestyle dj/producers since 1983,known for EXPOSE "Point of No Return",SEQUEL "Its Not Too Late",Techno Lust "Woman",CELI B,Olga,Wild Marries, Paris by Air, etc.), where JONPITO would serve and study for over 7 years under the Martinee and Oscar Llord (then president of Sony Discos) Camp.
While at Extreme/EQ's (now defunct mega complex that once also housed Right touch and Pantera) Jonpito took time to flex his skills at the same time working on and assisting Sound Engineering projects under RICHIE PEREZ. He would have the chance to work with everyone from producers and artist including Son By Four (feat Angel Lopez), Ednita Nazario, Laura Pousini,The Diaz Brothers,Gilberto SantaRosa,Alejandro Jean,Omar Alfano,MDO,Tommy Torres, Elvis Crespo,Fransico Paz,Gabriel Travesari, Grupo Mania,Jellybean Benitez,David Sanchez and his people skills would lead him to work his way up to Publicity, Marketing, Promotion, and eventually to roadie and artist management opportunities for the label divisions.
After years of promotional projects and tours, he would launch himself as a solo independent freelance promoter and artist representative. Although over the years he has worked with many established artist, it is his faithfulness and help to the independent artist and DJs, especially in the dance music scene, what he would be known for. The claim to fame would be many (From columnist/song writer to event coordinator) over a long period of time, but most noted around the years he toured with D'luna the China Doll under the Jellybean Benitez banner and went on a crusade through out the Florida, California and southwest regions claiming back the Electro Breaks sound in the name of Electro Funk/Freestyle and Vocal artist coming from Miami. Other artist that eventually would join an alliance of new freestyle breaks artist would eventually in one way or another also cross paths with JONPITO including BRICE "Close your Eyes"(streetbeat), Fiori (AKA Samantha)"Craving Your Love" "If I Believe" "Take me Where You Are" and a string of many.
Although shy and rarely even seen, JONPITO was known to work under several alias', but it would not stop him from creating his biggest gift to independent dance artist............The TAI SHAN BALL artist showcase, which has been going strong now for over 12 years and now on its eighth year as the TSB. Over the years every name from Tera Sky "Is This Love", DJ VIDAL "Believe" *69, Connie "Funky little beat",SANDEE (Expose)"Notice Me", to the current Jennifer Glass "Dreaming", Jose El Rey, The Chongaliscious Girls, Giorgio and a string of classic and future radio and underground artist has taken part. Now not only seen as "theee" crown jewel of Freestyle industry parties, but a major UNITY party for all vocal dance artist and industry types, usually set around the winter music conference week.
In 2007 JONPITO took hold of new positions in several companies, while at the same time taking back positions at DESTUNE Records and Freestylemusic.com as a song writer and producer among other things (along side DJ Jorge Ojeda) , ready to release a fleet of new material. In 2008 as A&R, artist M&D and creative director of DESTUNE records, projects are lined up for D'Luna The Chinadoll, Sandee, Vanessa Conde, Rudy Stockhausen,Ray Guell and a fleet of artist with releases and remixes that will launch Freestyle and Miami dance music into a new era.
In addition, continuing his THROB Neo Freestyle weekly events and radio broadcast with DJ Jorge Ojeda on FM/HD and internet radio shows (Mastermix Sessions) at the same time promote global unity.
