Artist Biography-Miles Petty
Miles Petty is a singer/songwriter/dancer/choreographer who was born in Santa Cruz, California. He grew up listening to a diverse mixture of musical styles that all helped shape who he would become as an artist. His family moved to St. Louis, Missouri before he started high school and it was there that he discovered his passion for dance. He attended Central Visual and Performing Arts High School and then, earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Webster University. Although he chose to concentrate his studies in school on dance, music was always a part of his soul. Heavily influenced by the Freestyle artists of the eighties (Sweet Sensation, George Lamond, etc.), Miles started recording songs in the genre. Miles created an early buzz for himself in the Freestyle music community and has been featured on several CD compilations-including legendary Freestyle producer, Carlos Berrios’ latest project, “Don’t Look Backâ€.
His latest songs still incorporate Freestyle elements but have also begun to expand into a more soulful pop sound that is more true to his voice as a singer. Miles just recently finished recording some new tracks at Boom Studio in Toronto with super producer, Frank Vena. He has also worked with Canadian singer/songwriter, Elissa, previously mentioned producer, Carlos Berrios and Pete Zavala & Lenny “Linus†Douglas. Also a dynamic performer on stage, Miles’ high energy live sets have earned him a great reputation as an entertainer. He is currently working on his debut album, which should released in the near future.
