SINGER/SONGWRITER/PRODUCER...

About Me

Create a Myspace LED Scroller
Who is Vicky O'Neill? She is a 23 year old half south american half irish undiscovered singer/songwriter/producer and one half of U.K songwriting team VI.BE (A.K.A the HOOKers).
She is a woman who sees every day as a chance to improve herself both musically and personally. Every day fighting an inner battle on her journey to self discovery .
She says - "the minute we start believing we are of a higher importance than anyone else just because we possess a skill or talent they don't have we no longer deserve to be blessed with it. My gift is just that. A gift. If i become arrogant and boastful because of my blessings and achievements then i cease to deserve them."
Her debut album 'LIFE IN STEREO' is a collection of honest and emotive tracks ranging from heartbroken to defiant.
With tracks like 'wishing you away' she taunts an old tormentor with the lyric - "cry a little louder, try a little harder,i'm hoping that you never stop. i see you sinking under, walk beneath my thunder, and with every day...im wishing you away"
At the opposite end of the spectrum she whispers softly on the track 'beautiful' - "im hiding in your shadow for life...and when you need to fall its my arms you'll find"
She briefly touches on a relationship turned sour in 'sleep like strangers' with - "we sleep like strangers...in a bed full of memory, we sleep like strangers cos i can't find a remedy."
And finally wraps the album up with the final track - 'my story' saying "every melody i play...every lyric that i say...is written from the heart, my story so far."
But Vikki's songwriting talents reach far beyond her own album, last year, with her songwriting team VI.BE, she had a track released by the Sugababes (the U.K's biggest selling girlband) the track made it to no. 8 in the U.K charts and earned the girls a new respect within the music industry. This year holds even more exciting prospects with confirmation that 'Take me down' is to be used as the title track in a hollywood movie and she's been tipped as britains best kept secret by management heavyweight and father of Beyonce 'Matthew Knowles'...

"Please take the time to watch the documentary if you havent already guys, its and hour or so of your day and we just cant turn a blind eye to the unecessary suffering thats happening to the children in the care homes of bulgaria. If you are moved by the documentary like i was then please go to
www.abandonedchildren.org.uk
and donate whatever you can, your money? Your time? Or even just try to raise awareness. Anything you can do helps. No child should grow up without decent food,a warm cuddle and some chance for education. Its just horrific in a european country in this day and age.

Im inspired by a variety of people on a daily basis. Sometime people not anything to do with the music industry have a lasting effect on the way i live and write. I respect and admire people with a positive outlook despite the cards they're dealt. People who have been through adversity, disability or pain in their lives and managed to come through to the other side better and badder to turn that struggle into something postive.
