NIRNAETH
nirnaeth arnoediad: the Battle of Unnumbered Tears
haud n’ nirnaeth: the Hill of Tears
NIRNAETH was born from a common desire: that of Mutill (guitars) and Malaria (bass). They share their passion for Metal music for nearly ten years and they wished to create a powerful extreme metal band which would rejoin various influences under the banner of Black Metal.
We are then in 2001 and the first songs are composed and recorded by Mutill. The musical identity of NIRNAETH is a kind of combination of various influences: Black, Death, Heavy, Classical, Thrash... These influences are handled with a constant will of cohesion while adopting dynamic and intelligent structures.
Yamaël became the drummer of the band in January 2002. At this time NIRNAETH worked hard during intensive rehearsals at LBLAB. Malaria was first at the vocals while waiting for a singer who corresponds to the style of NIRNAETH. After a long period of research Zigouille finally integrated the band.
Then NIRNAETH started to multiply many offensives, always seeking to appease its thirst for gigs. The preceding activities of the musicians quickly enable them to perform great shows to transmit the energy of the songs: NIRNAETH dissociates already from other bands and each gig is a way to collect positive opinions.
November 2004 : "Nothing But Ashes" was out and did get a great response in magazines and webzines but the band was not entirely satisfied with the sound.
NIRNAETH entered Midnight studio in September 2005 in order to record guitars, bass and drums for its first album. Voice was recorded in Arnoediad Studio. Mix and master took place at Midnight Studio, respectively in November 2005 and January 2006.
