Michelle Agius was born and lives in Australia, her home studio and gallery overlook the Border Ranges and Mt. Warning in New South Wales. Agius has presented her digital and mixed media paintings in numerous exhibitions throughout Australia and in New York, California and Greece, with work held in both private and public collections throughout the world.
The artist investigates themes of sensuality, spirituality, the creation of the human condition and the cyclical nature of life and death. Her work can be described as evocative and delicately sensual, personal yet universal.
Agius says, “I explore the way we perceive our physical bodies, mind and spirit. My philosophy is to re-member, to for-give, to trust, to accept. By acknowledging all aspects of self as sacred, I invite the viewer to find resonance through their own experience, and encourage others to be more loving and nurturing to their being."
