+++Blackmass Biography+++
+++2001+++
In this year the infernal warrior Lord Aeshma is playing in a black metal horde, but it does not meet the obscure longings and the truthful Satanic ideology of Lord Aeshma. Then, in October Lord Aeshma leaves the horde ready to give life to an ambitious project called Blackmass.Lord Aeshma is ready to form a horde with extreme technical abilities, blasphemy, and fast compositions. To bring the dark ideals together & form songs of true Satanic essence.
+++2002+++
After many auditions, Magus Dux Adramelech joins the horde as the vocalist in January and eventually becomes a permanent member in March. From then on, the unholy duo of Aeshma and Adramelech let the infernal gears of Blackmass move forward.After a few rehearsals Blackmass writes songs to record their first cd, self-financed, but the horde doesn’t have a drummer yet, therefore, Magus Dux Adramelech decides to record the drums even though he has never played them before.In May the horde enters Veronese Studio to record the demo, “Diabolical Ritual.” Lord Aeshma records guitars and bass and Magus Dux Adramelech records vocals, drums, and keyboards. This disc has five tracks: an intro, a slow song “Ravenous Demonium”, and three high-speed songs. One track stands out for the band, this being “Diabolical Ritual,” this song is what is going to guide Blackmass’ forth-coming ferocity.With this demo, Blackmass appears as a revelation and shows great promise as a black metal band to be watched. The horde appears in several magazines with prominence. The cd has great acceptance in the underground, mainly in the Brazilian underground way, showing the power of the band. Blackmass releases “Diabolical Ritual” with excellent sound quality and extremely powerful cover-art.As soon as “Diabolical Ritual” hits the black metal scene, Blackmass receives an invitation to appear on a compilation by Black Hole Magazine in September. With this release, Blackmass’ song, “Diabolical Ritual” starts to get respect as a professional horde and several contacts are made, making the band known throughout the underground.
+++2003+++
.After a long time looking of looking for a drummer, Verberibus Necare is added as a permanent member and Magus Dux Adramelech starts to do both vocals and bass. Eventually Blackmass’ line-up is complete, and it brings a new level of aggressiveness, technicality, and speed. With the addition of a drummer, Blackmass can now write songs that are more Satanic and faster than the first album.With many rehearsals and die-hard dedication, the members of the horde enters Veronese Studio once again, this time to record the EP “Episcolum, Servo Servorum Satanii.” This release has two songs, both hyper-fast and obscure. The track “I Call Upon Thee” stands out as many people consider it as a Blackmass icon.Once again, the acceptance is great and Blackmass is considered as a great Brazilian black metal horde.With this EP, Blackmass appears on another compilation with the song “Daemonarchetypes.” The compilation is entitled, “Extreme Underground I” by Avernus Records from Brazil which was released in December. Gaining notoriety once again, the horde appears in several specialized underground magazines.
+++2004+++
The year begins with the band playing many gigs. Blackmass plays in their own state of Paraná and also in some other states of Brazil. During this time the horde concentrates on writing new songs to show the true face of evil on an album never seen before in the Brazilian black metal scene.In June Blackmass have nine tracks to record their first full-length album for a label. In this same month the horde receives an offer from the label, Black Metal Máfia from São Paulo offering a contract to release the unpublished Blackmass material. This contract was signed, but a little time after it, Blackmass announces they are BREAKING the contract because the label does not fulfill the contract clauses. Blackmass is still without a label.The horde does many live performances and new propositions start to come to Blackmass. These proposals come from Canada, USA, and Europe, but none are satisfying to the band and Blackmass continues to work on their own.
+++2005+++
In May a label from Natal, Brazil called Blasphemy Productions offers the band an interesting contract to release the new material from this unholy horde. Thus in July Blackmass enters Poly Studio in Cascavel to record an album with high-quality production, faster, obscure, technical and more Satanic than ever.The album is entitled “Gloria Diaboli” and contains nine tracks in total. The stand out tracks are the ultra-fast songs of “Gloria Diaboli” and “Necrologies,” while the technicality of “Xes Lehahiah Plegas,” and “Infernal Horned God,” showcase the horde’s musical ability. Also contained on this release is the song, “Alae Nocturnae,” which is sung in Latin. To close the infernal circle, Blackmass has artist Svart (Lys Aeon) create the artwork which reflects the magnitude and obscurity of this disc.The full-length cd is released on December 10th in Brazil, with the horde doing many live shows. On December 20th “Gloria Diaboli” is released world-wide, and from February on the album is also available in LP version.
+++2006+++
On 15th April "Gloria Diaboli" is released via Sinister Sounds from Canada. Throught this year Blackmass was playing some gigs and preparing new material for a new album.
+++2007+++ Blackmass signed to Open Grave Records for releasing on December its new album entitle "Nemesis".

BLACKMASS “Gloria Diaboli” (SIN0006) The brutal Brazilian Black Metal horde known as BLACKMASS started its cursed existence in 2001 as guitarist Lord Aeshma was looking to form a band that would play the true essence of Black Metal as the genre’s forefather’s intended it to be; fucking extreme & with a total Satanic devotion. In 2002, things started to take shape for the band as Lord Aeshma found an Unholy alliance in Magus Dux Adramelech as this sickening demon proved he was the right man for the job as his bass playing abilities & devastating vocals perfectly fit the sound BLACKMASS was striving for. These two Infernal beings recorded a demo entitled, “Diabolical Ritual.” As the band did not have a drummer yet, Adramelech lent his talent to playing them & also sang on this recording, while Aeshma played all the guitar & bass parts. With this release, BLACKMASS quickly gained recognition in the underground scene. As both Aeshma & Adramelech realized if they wanted to continue on as a serious band, a drummer would have to be found so they could continue recording their Evil sound & start playing live gigs. It seemed as though Satan himself rose from the depths of Hell to help this horde out as in 2003, drummer Verberibus Necare was found. Now as a trio, BLACKMASS entered Veronese Studio to record the Ep., “Episcolum, Servo Servorum Satanii.” As expected, this release gained the band a larger following in the underground with the band doing interviews for various magazines & fanzines the world over. With things moving forward for BLACKMASS, 2004 sees the band being offered a contract from the Brazilian label, Black Metal Mafia located in São Paulo. A month after the contract is signed, the band decides to part ways with the label as it does not live up to its contractual obligations. Although this is an unfortunate incident, the band forges on & with its reputation it has built up as they start to receive offers from places like, Canada, The United States & Europe. As none of the offers appeal to the band, they continue on their own. As time wears on, BLACKMASS receives an offer from yet another Brazilian label called, Blasphemy Productions. The band enters into seclusion to write 9 Demonic rituals which eventually are entitled, “Gloria Diaboli” & the band’s first full-length is unearthed upon humankind in December of 2005. Due to economic reasons, Blasphemy Productions can only cover the country of Brazil with this disc. As this is the case, BLACKMASS scours the underground in search of a label with worldwide distribution. A copy of “Gloria Diaboli” finds its way to Canadian label SINISTER SOUNDS. Impressed by this Wicked Brazilian onslaught of Black Metal, a contract is signed in blood & an Unholy union is begun between the label & the band & BLACKMASS’ “Gloria Diaboli” is released via SINISTER SOUNDS on May 10th, 2006.
