Light and Shade...

About Me

I began playing the bass guitar about eleven years ago when I was 19 (it's not ever too late to start, am I wrong?) and, after four months of hard duty, I joined a local band for the first time. During these years I've played a lot of different musical genres, Gothic, Death, Doom, Thrash, trying to improve myself day by day, experimenting and working hard on my instrument to achieve better results. In 2002 due to personal reasons I left the band in which I was playing, Mutilation Trade, and I abandoned my beloved bass guitar for about three years. In 2005 an old friend of mine, Daniele, convinced me to take up the bass again and play in a black metal project. The following year we formed Cold Empire , in which I’ve been playing for about ten months, from the early stages till the recording of the first mini-cd. After the recording session I decided to leave the project, just to commit myself to new styles and explore new musical horizons. I am currently playing in the gothic metal band Mother Gaia .

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: Under construction.
Band Members: Alessio "Necrocultus" Sorbo, Mother Gaia 's bass player.
Past member of Cold Empire .
Influences: Many bass players have inspired my way of playing, but if I must choose those who have most influenced me among them I would say Alex Webster, Billy Sheehan, Duncan Patterson, Les Claypool, Steve DiGiorgio and Steve Harris. They showed me a new way to play the bass, provided me with inspiration and gave me the drive to play hard and constantly improve myself, and experiment with the infinite possibilities and potential of this amazing instrument.
Sounds Like: My favourite musical genres are undoubtably Black Metal, Death Metal, Doom and Gothic and I attempt to incorporate these into my music.
