Petrina is the Founder, creative vision and spirit behind Threshold Dance Theater .
She has been a student, teacher and author of dance for more than 30 years. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Dance Arts. . Her movement studies have encompassed Ballet, various modern and ethnic forms, the Halprin Life/Art Expressive Therapy Process, and Laban/Bartinieff Movement Fundamentals. She also is a certified Health Fitness Instructor and Reiki and Thai Massage Practitioner.
As an Interdiciplinary Artist, in addition to teaching and choreographing, Petrina designs and creates all of her own costumes, sets, and props.
She also is a devoted and loving mother to children Andrew 18, and Lindsay, her autistic, differently-abled, 12 year old daughter who she considers her creative partner in the development of Threshold's specialized expressive movement classes for differently-abled children and adults.

THRESHOLD DANCE THEATER is the first contemporary dance company in Las Vegas with its’ own resident facility within which operates a school/studio space and a Theater performance space.
The school provides adult and youth classes in contemporary movement forms and expression, contact improvisation, low–flying aerial dance and apparatus partnering, as well as creative movement expression for children and adults who are differently-abled.
The Theater is a community access space for artist performances and community events, sponsors a community outreach program to foster the artistic process for new and established artists, and promotes the interdisciplinary cooperation and fusion of all art forms.
Threshold Dance Theater is a not-for-profit 501c(3) incorporated in the state of Nevada.

Dance is a powerful educational and therapeutic tool.
Threshold Dance Theater programs teach the cultivation of dance as a cultural expression of our life experiences and provide a generative medium for personal growth and development. Our teachers gently guide and foster individual expression in an environment where differences are celebrated. We reach out to all members of our community and provide a place where they can feel a sense of belonging and experience the joy of creative expression.
The resident professional company engages the art of dance to touch the hearts and souls of its audience and cultivate the ongoing investigation of the human experience. Through interdisciplinary, collaborative efforts, TDT explores innately human relationship issues and personal journeys through all stages of life.
We enlist the communicative power of the human body to reach out a healing hand toward fostering introspection, the joy of discovery, enlightenment, and personal revelation.
