My Interests

What did you do? What did you say?
Did you walk or did you run away?
Where are you now? Where have you been?
Did you go alone or did you bring a friend?
I didn't know this but I noticed you're smiling.
Out of the sun, having fun and you're feeling free.
And I can tell you know how hard this life can be, but you keep on smiling for me.

What went right? What went wrong?
Was it the story or was it the song?
Was it overnight or did it take you long?
Was knowing your weakness what made you strong?
Or all of the above. Oh how I love to see you smiling.
And oh yeah, take a little pain just in case.
You need something warm to embrace, to help you put on a smiling face.
Put on a smiling face.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone that can make me laugh or think. Bonus for both and Triple Bonus if both at the same time. People I can learn from and are easy to talk to. People who aren't afraid of being themselves (as long as yourself doesn't mean asshole). People who don't take life too seriously and enjoy the little things. Philosophical and deep conversations are always the best. People who like themselves. Favorably anyone into some facet of self expression like design, art or music. No judgmental people with something to prove. People with noble meanings and no hidden agendas. Fun!

Music:

My music tastes span 2.5 decades and while I love the 80's, I love the 90's more. There's some new bands that really speak to me as well in the new millenium. I tend to shy away from overproduced pop songs, I like songs with heart and pain. Happy, cheery dance songs have a permanent parking space, but aren't always there. They have their time

The list:
My Teens:
Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Psychedelic Furs, XTC, The Smiths, Madness, Talking Heads, The Specials, Fishbone, Violent Femmes, Dead Kennedys, Early R.E.M., Devo, Soft Cell, Stray Cats, Yaz, Oingo Boingo, Erasure and the Pet Shop Boys.

My 20's
Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, , They Might Be Giants, Soundgarden, The Pixies, Front 242, Pop Will Eat Itself, Nitzer Ebb, A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters, Fluke, Photek, Goldie, Ministry, Morrissey, Smashing Pumpkins, The Sundays, The Cranberries, Weezer, Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Marley, No Doubt, Counting Crows, Radiohead, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Bush, Sublime, Stone Temple Pilots, Liz Phair, The Fugees and Lauryn Hill, Marilyn Manson, Del Tha Funky Homosapien, Sonic Youth, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Beck and Live.

My 30's
Modest Mouse, Bright Eyes, The Shins, The Mars Volta, System Of A Down, A.F.I., AK1200, Eminem, Kanye West, Ludacris, Coheed and Cambria, The White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, Death Cab for Cutie, Alkaline Trio, My Chemical Romance, Jack Johnson, Rise Against, The Strokes, Panic! at the disco, Black Eyed Peas, Gnarls Barkley, Bloc Party, Gorillaz, , The Pandas, Blonde Redhead, Stereolab, Death by Stereo, and Mogwai.

There are many more but mostly singles and crap. I'm very open minded musically

Movies:

O Brother, Where Art Thou., Half-Baked, Spaceballs (greatest movie), Napoleon Dynamite (Yessss!) Blazing Saddles, Fight Club, American Beauty, 40 year old Virgin, High Fidelity, Born on the 4th of July, JFK, Pulp Fiction, Do The Right Thing, Kill Bill, Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange, The Shawshank Redemption, Monty Python movies, The Unforgiven, Farenheit 911, Supersize Me, Saving Private Ryan, Lord of the Rings (1 and 3), Harry Potter (i'm a big kid), Boondock Saints, The Incredibles.

Television:

Don't watch TV religiously but I do love Futurama, Family Guy, South Park and The Simpsons. Mad TV and SNL have their moments. History Channel has some good programming as well as Discovery. Reality TV? Let's just say I've had my fill.

Heroes:

Tupac Amaru (look it up), Paul Cezanne, Jerome Witkin, J.C. Leyendecker, Gregory Manchess, The Designer's Republic, Neville Brody, Burt Silverman, Malcolm Liepke and many others.
