I got nothing, but you can always have half of it...

About Me

Just a writer, reader, music lover, scifi nerd, and film nerd. I've experienced some interesting things in my life, especially within the last few years. First, my family housed an exchange student, my 'sister' Anke. She's real cool and now at University in Bonn, Germany. Next, I went and lived in England for about half a year, putting my film degree on hold. Then I came home and sat around for about a year, then got a job at Starbucks. That very same summer I took my first trip to Germany to visit my sister, which was really fun. In the summer of 2005, I went back to England, taking my brother as a graduation gift (aren't I a nice sister?) and left one week before the attacks. I have just graduated from college with a degree in film studies. Also, I had my first novel self-published, it's called Lydia's Family. With that, the formation of a Production Company. Currently I'm thinking Grad school for Film Archiving, a subject close to my heart. And now here I am, contemplating my next move... -Share and Get Free Layouts @ LayoutShare.com - Read My Writing at WritersCafe.org

My Interests

A huge scifi nerd! I was named after a Dr. Who character, Romanadvoratrelundar, but luckily that's not on my birth certificate. My most favorite scifi shows/francises are Dr. Who (by default), dead like me, Firefly, Farscape, Star Trek, and Star Wars. I also play the cello when I feel I should be nerdier than usual. I basically just read, write, listen to music, watch movies, and have a good time at work. Some Josh Groban for you at his best:

I'd like to meet:

I don't know, maybe Alan Rickman, he's my favorite actor. Also in that group are Steve Coogan, Mandy Patinkin, Jeremy Irons, Jonathan Ross, and David Krumholtz. Maybe Martin Scorsese and Ron Howard, he's the one that made me want to be a film student. Sarah Vowell seems like she'd be interesting. Definitely Jon Stewart, I never miss the Daily Show!

Music:

Rock and Classical Music mostly. My favorite bands are Queen, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica, and Van Halen. Led Zeppelin, Billy Squire, David Bowie, The Black Crowes, Buckcherry, and Sammy Hagar (my dad's hero). But there's also The Offspring, Korn, Audioslave, System of a Down, The Beatles, The Darkness (just for fun), Green Day, the Buzzcocks, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. As for classical artists I enjoy Andre Rieu, Bond, the Opera Babes, Maksim Mrvica, Yo-Yo Ma, Izthak Perlman, Joshua Bell, Andrea Bocelli, Bryn Terfel, and Angela Gheiroghiu (or however it is spelled) and listening to Classicfm.com. I love bands that sound like they'd be good as instrumentals or operas, like some System of a Down or Metallica (especially the later stuff) sounds like it could be operatic. I also enjoy Eisley, Josh Groban (of course), The Corrs, Pink Martini, Gavin DeGraw, Michael Buble, and my very favorite Beatle, George Harrison (that's right, he's my favorite). Getting into old stuff lately too, especially Dean Martin. Gotta love Dino. Eisley: And then an awesome combo: Andre Rieu with Bond Mr. McCartney:

Movies:

As a film major I like to watch about everything. Though my favorite movie is Dragonheart. I also like movies such as Singin in the Rain, the Professional, Taxi Driver, Animal Crackers (the Marx Brothers!), Still Crazy, Life is Beautiful, Amadeus. The list could go on a while. I'll just list them from my imdb account: Alien Nation, Almost Famous, Batman Begins, Bright Young Things, Casino, The Cat's Meow, Coffee and Cigarettes, The Doctor Who tv movie (with Paul McGann), Dodgeball, Duck Soup (marx bros), Educating Rita, Empire of the Sun, Equilibrium, Fairy Tale, French CanCan, Garden State, The General (Buster Keaton), The Greatest Show on Earth, Harvey, Henry V, Highlander, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (new one), I Heart Huckabees, Labyrinth, the Legend of 1900, Lost in Translation, Love in the Afternoon (Audrey Hepburn as a cellist? how is this not a classic!), Merlin (tv movie), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, MST3K: The Movie, Napoleon Dynamite, Night and the City (1950), A Night at the Opera (marx bros), Phantom of the Opera (2004), The Princess Bride, Port of Shadows, Roman Holiday, Serenity, Show People (Marion Davies), Sin City, Stargate, The Station Agent, Underworld, and Young Frankenstein. I'll keep you posted on others that develop. Like: Atonement, Dear Frankie, The Chorus, The Cotton Club, Clue, The Departed, The Gods Must Be Crazy, Goodfellas, High Noon, Juno, King Kong (2005), Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, La Vie en Rose, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Narc, The Painted Veil, Paris- je t'aime, The Prestige, Pride & Prejudice (A&E miniseries and 2005), The Queen, Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky Balboa, Smokin' Aces, Stardust, There Will Be Blood, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story, United 93, The Valet, Walk the Line, Zodiac. Here's an awesome video I found on Youtube:

Television:

I don't watch much any more. They canceled most my shows: dead like me, carnivale, firefly, farscape, etc. But the current shows I watch are Lost, 30 Rock, House, Numb3rs, Scrubs, the Office, 24, My Family, Shootout, Criminal Minds, Pushing Daisies, Chuck, the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and Hell's Kitchen. I love BBC America and watch such classics as Black Adder, Coupling, Life on Mars, Murder City, My Family, Torchwood, Eleventh Hour, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare's, the Thin Blue Line, Robin Hood and the show Spaced with Simon Pegg. Doctor Who!!! The most classic of my favorites! I love both old and new stuff. Some of my favorite Classics are Taxi, Three's Company, Night Court, MST3K, and maybe even Happy Days. Craig Ferguson: A miniseries called North and South:

Books:

My other pastime. I read weird ones too. Mostly Scifi and Autobiographies. Battlefield: Earth is pretty good, even though the movie blew. I also like Neil Gaiman, Anne McCaffrey, Simon R. Green. I am also getting into the classics, like The Last of the Mohicans or Robinson Crusoe. Some Good books: Time Traveler's Wife, Dragonriders of Pern series, Neverwhere, American Gods, Ivanhoe, Deathstalker, A Game of Thrones (Song of Fire & Ice series), Crime & Punishment, Harpo Speaks, Lolita (and all the inside jokes that come with this one), Eric Idle's Greedy Bastard Diary, Assassination Vacation (Sarah Vowell in general), America: The Book, Timeline, Pride & Prejudice (any Jane Austen really, what girl doesn't want that kind of romance?)Any Harry Potter book esp. The Prisoner of Azkaban and Deathly Hallows, Angela's Ashes, Doctor Who media novels (Father Time and Last Man Running are two of my faves), Rhapsody (Symphony of the Ages trilogy), Black Trillium (Trillium series), Aurian (and subsequent sequels),The Scarlett Letter, Sorcery Rising (and sequels), The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Phantom of the Opera, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Stardust, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Road to Mars, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Daughter of the Forest, The Well of Lost Plots, The Other Boelyn Girl, Dracula, Girl with the Pearl Earring, Pygmalion, Take the Canoli, The Lies of Locke Lamora, Tuesdays with Morrie,
