Nick Ludovico & The Greyjacks

Nick Ludovico is unique singer/songwriter from Philadelphia. Born and raised in the City Of Brotherly Love, he picked up his roots in the 90’s and moved to Chicago where he experienced that city’s legendary blues sound and explosive indie rock scene. A few years ago, he returned to his hometown and set out to carve a niche for himself as a singer/songwriter. Often collaborating with Chicago based songwriter Steve Sliga and drawing inspiration from American roots music and 60’s soul, Nick put forth a series of songs which eventually found a home on his EP called Melodies From Girard Avenue. The songs on Melodies From Girard Avenue bear the trademark of Nick’s songwriting – carefully crafted words that have meaning, but sometimes more meaning is offered to listeners who explore the words that are left unsaid. That unclaimed territory was quickly discovered when The Greyjacks was formed. In addition to Nick’s guitar and vocals, The Greyjacks includes Toby Martin on drums, Dave Young on guitar, and Marc Hildenberger on bass. While Nick’s solo project brought the passion of a southern revival meeting, The Greyjacks deliver a performance that channels the kind of passion found in the souls of those who may have bypassed that revival meeting in order to pursue endeavors that are a little less spiritual.
