About Me

.. If you see dog hair, it is from Wiener Dogs Rudy and Hazel. The fun introduction is by Chad Bailey, vocal god and bad-ass guitar player/songwriter.The first song is Chad and me live jamming Dave Matthews' "Bartender". Recorded live in a Scottsdale Irish pub.The next song is "March of the Exxon", without a doubt the WORST original I have ever recorded! It was meant to be a protest of sorts, but came out a low blow to the Exxon Valdez incident. Seagulls may attack your car if you play it too close to the beach.High points are the cheesy FM synthesizer, the really bad ocean sound, it drags on F O R E V E R . Listen for the cheap Yamaha sequencer vary speed in several places. And for the dirty laundry, I was playing my old Barcus Berry 5-string on this, not my Zeta, and it was like playing a baseball bat. The neck is only a little bit wider, but it seemed like a large zuchinni or something. And there's about a 2-second cosmic squeek on the A string where the rosin just turned into a cryogenic gas plasma maybe, or maybe I just suck lol. Naw....... Plasma rosin, yeah. Don't forget to listen to the little dying seals at the end and in a couple of other places I think.Recent recording projects have included the Psychic Vampires, myspace.com/dreamchemistry, and the myspace.com/barefootbeauties.I am looking for an aggressive, gig-oriented band playing cool stuff that fits with electric violin. My sound is jazz/rock fusion and Dave Matthews Band. Please send an email if you have a gig-band or idea.Originals can be found at www.music.download.com/jorgeburrage. Free downloads and streaming, of course. All my love to Dan Finch and his love Jessica who is fighting bravely against cancer at the Mayo Clinic. All my prayers to both of you and may Jesus the Great Healer bring forth a miracle for all of us. Jorge

My main instrument is a white Zeta Jazz Electric Violin and a black composite bow. I also use a red jazz and an E-Modern. VSTi virtual software synthesizers are played on several PCs running Sonar using a Triton workstation and Zeta violins for originals. The Zeta violins are interfaced using the Zeta Synthony Midi Interface Controller.
Influences: Jean Luc Ponty, Windham Hill Artists, Byron Berline, Vassar Clements.
Sounds Like: Music on my home planet in the Zeta Reticulli binary star system. We are here to blend in with the humans and prepare for the invasion. Sorry.
Record Label: Waiting for that call.........
Type of Label: None

2. What's the Difference Between a Fiddle and a Violin?

Well, a violin is easily $5,000 more than a fiddle of equal quality, but that takes a real expert to appraise and beyond me. It is not uncommon for a really good fiddle to go for $5,000, but few peopl...
