The early to mid `90's found me becoming increasingly more aware of the warehouse scene and the music that was being produced.
I had been in North Wales for about five years after a move from the Manchester area in the late 80's, so the free festival thing was in full swing here, more parties than you could throw a spliff at.
The guitar and amp had started to gather dust as i became more engrossed with the computer generated productions that were around at the time from acts such as Josh Wink, the Prodigy, faithless, Orbital etc, a very exciting time.
I then swapped the amp (a Fender Princeton 20w valve) for my first Atari ST, complete with a copy of Cubase V.2.0. and the loan of a Casio synth from a mate, that was soon replaced with a Yamaha CS1x and an Akai S2000 sampler.
After a very confusing time of listening to the likes of Carl Cox, Carl Craig, C.J. Bolland and trying to work out who did what, i finally happened upon a cover tape on a copy of Wax mag, "The Deeper Shades of Drum`n Bass" on the Moving Shadow label.
This was it, it moved me more than any other type of music before or since, although i do still enjoy producing House, Electro and Trance when the need arises.
Ten years later and i'm now the owner of Stiwdio Eglwys, an Audio/Visual production and training studio near Bangor, North Wales. incorporating two record labels and a music publishing company, skint but reasonably happy!
