About Me

Thanks for taking the time to read about Steer. The band began as the songwriting project of Craig and Warren Steer, producing their debut recording " A Song for Gil" in Craig's spare room and a garage in Holmfirth. These heady times saw relative success, with good reviews and a flurry of decent gigs. Since these tentative steps Steer has developed into an outfit that has its own sound - as Leeds musicguru.com quoted, the bands sound is 'a mixture of musical texture and depth with intense choruses and an almost melancolic feel'
Since 'A Song for Gil' Steer has two further albums for internet release: 2004's 'Loved and Lost' and 2006's 'No Longer'. At present we are in the process of recording another 12-track CD, which should be complete by April. Our live set, whether it is a full electric sound or a stripped-back acoustic arrangement, is always a diverse mix of songs from the albums that combine loud and soft, cool and intense, happy and sad. Something for everyone!!!
