About Me

Hip Hop/ R&B sensation Troy” Joe Louis” Crossfield, Co-Founder and premier artist of the CampSoul Music Label, is set to reach the masses with a new creative Hip Hop/R&B style that is sure to keep his fans attention, clubs jumping and DJ’s yelling “Pull UP!!” With God given talent and inspiration from singers such as Donny Hathaway, Beres Hammond, Sam Cooke, Jodeci and rappers such as Nas, just to mention a few, “Joe Louis” born Troy Crossfield raised in Toronto, Ontario with a Jamaican background grew up listening to various music and started rapping at the age of 12. Joe showed an interest in singing by joining a gospel choir and vocal classes which paid off through high school and gave Joe the platform he needed to pursue a singing career. Heavily influenced by a family in music Joe started out his career as a talented R&B singer with former group Selfish. They signed with a Canadian record label named Onasys records and moved out to New York. It was a dream come true being noticed by record labels such as: Def Jam, Roc-a-Fella Records, and Atlantic Records and notable managers such as “Big Face” Gary, and Tina Davis (who currently manages Chris Brown and others). But their labels’ anticipated plans came to an end due to a lack of knowledge of the industry. Coming back to Toronto was hard after a short lived glamour life in New York but Joe pushed on and connected with long time producer/friend Russell “Chuck” Morgan. They formed the label CampSoul Music. Joe decided it was time to go back to his first love - Rapping. Joe released his first single “Dip Low” in 2003 as his name rang throughout the city. People were amazed but confused because Joe was known as a singer, model and actor and was now adding “rapper” to his already impressive resumé. Regularly traveling back and forth from the states attending music conferences, acting in numerous plays and independent films, Joe kept busy but connected with many labels, managers and promotional teams along the way. Due to this, peers dubbed Joe with the nickname “T Diddy” because he used every opportunity to create connections. Mentioned in the New York-based “Ave” magazine where other upcoming artists are recognized, Joe Louis and his CampSoul team stood out as the only Canadians to appear in that issue and was gaining the attention they needed. Also appearing in Urbanology Toronto’s #1 urban magazine Joe Louis and his label are on the branding grind. Joe Louis is also a song-writer and producer with partner “Chuck”. This production duo - “Chuck&Joe” - has been known for pumping out some of the most innovative creations in urban music and have established a name in the publishing side of music with partner Lauren Boodram. They have successfully placed songs in television shows and are currently pitching songs to major label artists. Joe Louis can currently be heard on the radio with the single “Turn it Up”, produced by Chuck&Joe featuring CampSoul Music recording artist Tonya Renée who is currently getting rave reviews in Europe. Joe Louis stays tight with the DJ community and promoters who have also helped to craft his career and image. His second single to be released “Eyebrow Pop” is a very fly and flashy song that is set to attract major attention for his upcoming album release. The album will be accessible to all four corners of the world and will feature the ingenious collaboration that is “Chuck and Joe”. With a fresh image, new management and marketing strategies, Joe has decided to use all his creativity with his new project that ranges from rapping to singing. With Chuck behind the beats and Joe Louis specializing in vocal arrangement and songwriting, their style ranges from hot club bangers to sultry sounds of soul. Joe Louis hopes to one day become a success story.
