POWER (THE SOUL CONTROLLER), Award winning dj and remix producer is a master at pleasing crowds in the club, radio and mixtapes. Known around the world for his crazy remixes and dj style, in 2004 he recieved a Justo's Mixtape Award in NYC for his "Reggae Meets Hip Hop" series. He is constantly releasing new and innovative mixtape compilations to please his fan base with guest appearances by artists such as 50 cent, Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul, Elephant Man, Wycleff and Franchize Boyz to name a few. His mixtapes have been featured in the NY TIMES, SCRATCH magazine, RIDDIM magazine etc. and his Soul Controllers Production co. has produced remixes played by djs worldwide. Power has appeared on numerous tv and radio stations such as BET, MUCHMUSIC, HOT 97NYC, BBC UK, FLOW 93.5fm Canada, JAPAN FM NETWORK, THE EDGE (Australia) and HOTT 107.5FM Bermuda to name a few. Power is famous for his live blend of Hip Hop and Dancehall and has held residencies and rocked parties at the most famous clubs in the world such as Club SPEED (NYC-Saturdays), China Club (NYC-Fridays), Eugene's (NYC Fridays), Gspot (Toronto-Sundays) as well as rocking parties in Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Montreal, Las Vegas, Bermuda to name a few. In 2005 he was the official dj for Rocawear's Roc-da-Caribana festival in Toronto, Canada hosted by Jay Z. He has also toured with and dj'd for artists such as Foxxy Brown, Game & Jelleestone, as well as rocking parties for Jermaine Dupri, P Diddy, David Banner and 50 cent. Power is featured in a movie commercial for Caterpillar shoes and MIMS "This Is Why I'm Hot" remix video. He is currently the official DJ for Reggae Superstar JUNIOR REID.
Power, was born to Trinidadian parents and raised in Toronto, Canada where he grew up with a love for music and started djng at 12 years old. The "Masterplan Show" on CIUT 89.5fm was his first radio spot on Sat. nights Canada's longest running hip hop show. In 2000 the show received an award at the Urban Music Awards for "Best Radio Show". In 2002-2003 he co-hosted and dj'd on Canada's ..1 rated weeknight show the "Trauma Unit" on FLOW 93.5fm with partner JWYZE. Power's 7pm mixshow segment was the highest rated hour for the show and one of the highest in it's timeslot across the board. Power became famous for his live remixes and exclusives. After releasing the infamous "Reggae Meets Hip Hop" mixtape series he became famous worldwide for his unique blend of mixing hip hop with dancehall and has received international recognition (Justo's mixtape award) and is constantly touring the club circuit. Since forming Soul Controllers Prod. company his production team (Campsoul Music, Kornerstone, Jweezy, Power prod.) is busy in the studio producing tracks for Hip Hop, R&B and Dancehall artists. He currently lives in NYC.
