We'd like to offer a platform for people to discuss love and sexual experiences in a fun and unabashed way to nurture and build emotional and physical intimacy with their partners. FATMAN SCOOP
I met Shanda on Feb. 9th 2002, a day ill never forget, matter of fact,I wound up making Shanda marry me on that day last year.
Before Shanda, I was a man that was down and out, in the middle of a marriage I was unhappy with trying to figure out what direction I was going in next. I never had the opportunity to date or meet people socially due to the fact that I was working all the time to keep the lights on.
Work Work Work!!!!!!
God must have decided that he would bring the woman to me instead of me going to find her!!!! I met Shanda in a club I was djing at for one of my friends who happened to be the promoter of the club. I had a rule that I used to have which was "Never get serious with a chick u meet in a club". Shanda changed all that.
Shanda came to the club that night thinking it was a Jazz club, which it was - it wasn..t making enough money and had to change over to doing hip hop and R&B. Who was there to do the opening night? The party starter - Fatman Scoop!!!!!!!
It was a by chance that I went into the corner where Shanda was sitting and introduced myself for some reason. I liked Shanda's hat!!!!!!!! And that..s how we started to talk to each other!!!!! Shanda asked me to dance, which I refused at the time - but i asked her to come backstage and talk with me. She asked me if she could take her sister into the room with us to talk. I respected that!!!!!!! It made me want to see what she was about - which i did by talking to her while the other dj was on.....her age, her marital status and the fact that she showed me her HIV test were all things that made me want to "follow up" with her and go to the next stage which was talking to her on the phone. After talking to her on the phone for weeks - I realized it wasn..t gonna be all about having sex with her!!!!! She was smart, intelligent, passionate, and thoughtful - all the things I was looking for in a woman.
I used to have a bunch of criteria that I would use in order to judge a woman - and Shanda met all of them. I hadn..t had a woman that met all the criteria that I was looking for in a woman in many years....so I decided to go to her house and "see how she lives". I did - and I was shocked!!!!!!! her house was beautiful!!!!! At that point - I knew this was the woman I wanted to be with!!!!! On my ride home, I ripped up my black book and cut all my broads off I haven..t been with anyone else since.
One night when I was in the bed talking to Shanda-I don't know about what- I realized the conversation was hilarious. I realized my own WIFE was witty, funny and sharp!!!!
Man and Wife was born!!
I will say that I..m not a expert on sexual advice. I..m just a man that has gone through a lot of things and seen a lot of things - and I..m giving my opinion about it..I..m not saying that I give great advice all the time, but I say what I feel, and I tell the truth whether it hurts or not!!!!! Thats what makes me a "expert"!!!!!!!!!
SHANDA
Born and raised in Newburgh, N.Y., I became a mom at a very early age, 15. Being a mom so soon was a blessing for me, though I didn..t realize it at the time. As a young child and in high school, I wanted to attend College for broadcast journalism. Unfortunately, my life choices and financial incapability did not allow me to pursue my dream of attending college.After high school I took a course in phlebotomy and worked as a lab technician for over 7 years. During this time I married my longtime boyfriend. This relationship and marriage was very tumultuous for me. Though my ex-husband took excellent financial care of me, he was often physically and emotionally abusive. This marriage, though good at times, was the start of me really realizing what I wanted for myself as a person. It hurts to admit it, the bad for me, far outweighed the good.It was at this time also that I became interested in working in HIV/AIDS services. I have always wanted to work in a field in which I felt I was not only learning but having a sense of helping someone else. I began working as an HIV/AIDS Counselor and Case Manager. It was very fulfilling work for me being able to facilitate the community in education and awareness around this disease as well as others and promoting change in knowing your status and prevention practices in keeping yourself sexually healthy.MY work was my life and newly separated and living on my own, I enjoyed my single life immensely at the time. I had been in a relationship most of my life and being single was new for me. It was within this period I met Scoop. We met at club, and we instantly connected. We dated for over 6 months and then I moved to New York City to be with him. As a couple we have always had excellent communication. He was going through a divorce at the time and we supported each other emotionally through it all. I continued my work as a case manager in Staten Island. It was a rough time for us because Scoop was running 2 house holds at the time. During his divorce from his ex-wife he received custody of his 2 children who were 9 and 2 at the time. In support of my husband and step-children, I quit my job and became a stay home mom.Though this story is abridged, we as a couple and Individually have been through so much in our pasts. Man and wife is a compilation of our love, trials, and life experiences. It was bred out of our constant communication and also our witty way of dealing with things. Neither of us are professionals in a book sense, but we are fortunate enough to have been through so many experiences in life to share and be able to offer a new and fun way to looking at these experiences and offer everyday solutions to our audience. We hope to offer and assist as well as learn and laugh with our audience.
