About Me
.. Known as Karenza(from my first band’s name,"Carenza Effettiva"), I’ve been a singer in different (mostly punk rock) bands from the Italian alternative scene, such as Makhnovcina (87/91), Barboncini (89/95), C.F.C.-Cruelty Free Core (93/95), Delinkuere (95/99) and MeAndMyMonkey (01/05). I decided to start this project with the help of some musicians/friends from my area and record a cd with some of the songs written during these last years. Something different from old stuff(including a couple of piano ballads!), that can’t and don’t want to label. A demo with 3 of these tracks is now available and free copies can be sent on request, expecially to radios, labels, clubs etc! Different songs of mine, including old stuff, are now available on my new website, finally online: www.karenza.net ! I’ve got another page too, at http://karenza.testamusic.it . On this myspace page you’ll be able to listen a few tracks like"Rainy Days","Alone in Amsterdam" & "Thanksong", some stuff i wrote about 7/8 years ago. "Rainy Days"is from the ep I made with my last band,ME&MYMONKEY, in 2003. I’m currently working at a new version of RD for my cd. Nevertheless, i think this old one with the monkeys still kicks ass.... I finally added "Alone in Amsterdam"and "Thanksong". The latter is the track i entered on the 2007 Marijuana Music Awards! Paolo Battaglino mixed and arranged both the songs and played guitar,bass and drums on Thanksong. This one is also my first experiment with overtone singing!(Versione italiana).... Conosciuto come Karenza (dal nome del mio primo gruppo,"Carenza Effettiva), sono stato cantante in diversi gruppi (soprattutto punk-rock), quali ad es. Makhnovcina (87/91), Barboncini(89/95), CFC-Cruelty Free Core (93/95), Delinkuere (95/99) e Me&MyMonkey (02/05). Ho deciso di iniziare questo progetto con l’aiuto di alcuni musicisti/amici della mia zona e di registrare alcuni pezzi scritti in questi ultimi anni. Qualcosa di diverso dalla roba precedente (comprese alcune ballad per piano), che non voglio etichettare. Un demo con 3 di questi pezzi è ora disponibile e su richiesta ne potrò inviare copie gratuite a radio, etichette, locali,etc. Alcuni brani sono ora anche disponibili sul mio nuovo sito,finalmente online: www.karenza.net. "Rainy Days" è quella del cd dei Me&MyMonkey, del 2003. Al momento sto lavorando ad una nuova versione di RD. Credo che comunque quella vecchia dei Monkeys spaccasse lo stesso! Ho infine aggiunto "Alone in Amsterdam" e "Thanksong"."Quest’ultima è la canzone che ho iscritto al 2007 Marijuana Music Awards! Paolo Battaglino ha mixato ed arrangiato entrambi i pezzi ed ha registrato, in Thanksong, anche le chitarre, basso e batteria. Questa canzone è anche il mio primo esperimento col canto armonico!
