Who is Francis "Leebo" De Lima?Characterized by his deep and distinctive vocals, coupled with an ultra cool delivery; Leebo’s music is an international blend of Dancehall, Soca and R&B with a hint of Latin and crosses the boundary somewhere between Sean Paul and Shaggy.Thirty (30) year old Francis De Lima or ‘Leebo’ as he is known, was born on the island of St. Lucia to a Portuguese father and St. Lucian mother. He grew up in the ghetto in St. Lucia’s capital - and it was there that his musical career began, DJ’ing on local sound systems. It wasn’t long after that he met producer Adam Gillmor and became a leading part of the group Kronic Heights Crew in 1997.They became an instant hit with the release of the album ‘Reggae Looshan’ in which hits like ‘Whole Ton A Gal’ and ‘Meow’ spent several weeks in the top ten of the Radio Caribbean charts. They were labeled by local press as “… the most dynamic thing to happen to St. Lucian music in a long timeâ€.Leebo’s most notable performance came in 1998 when they opened for Shaggy and Wyclef Jean and the Refugee All Stars and at the Opening of St. Lucia Jazz Festival 2005 where he shared the stage with Beenie Man and Rupee.Leebo left the island in 2000 to pursue his dream of becoming a Sound Engineer. He returned in 2003, and partnered with Adam Gillmor to form the company ‘Heights Music Production’ where he got the opportunity to produce and develop many up and coming artistes in St. Lucia. His creative production skills and songwriting capabilities were demonstrated when Kronic Heights scored a massive hit with the release of ‘Carnival Blue’ in 2003, a catchy Dancehall-Soca track that was adopted by Cable & Wireless Ltd. as a key part of their mobile phone advertising campaign. Leebo continues to grow and develop, showing versatility in his new more recent releases ;’Give It To Me’ in 2004, ‘Rain’ in 2005 and ‘Dejavous’ in 2006.Contact Leebo at:Email:
